Does $600.00 to $700.00 sound right for 25-30 invitations??? :earseek: Who/Where did you get your invitations? Were they Disney themed? :confused3

I asked that same question! and NO they are NOT! :confused3

Wow, I just printed my invitations out on the computer using a purchased invitation package from the office supply/stationary store. I think the total for 100 invites (and response cards) was just under $100.

I did the same thing as Amberle3 - I bought a do-it-yourself kit from Michael's with a 40% coupon. I paid less than $15 and there are 50 each of invitations, envelopes, rsvp cards & return envelopes. It's a really cute design too.

We paid about what you are looking at for 100 invitations, reception cards, response cards w/ printed envelopes, and lined inner envelopees. IMHO, I think that's a crazy amount to pay for that number of invites (unless of course, you REALLY LOVE them :)) We got our invitations from theamericanweddingalbum.com, they were not disney themed.

That sounds pretty high to me! If you have your heart set on them, then get them, but if not perhaps you could find some less expensive ones that you like just as much. I think we paid around $430 for 100 lithographed invitations with lined inner envelopes, response cards, and thank you notes. They were also embossed with our monogram. Perhaps your quote was for engraved invitations. If you use lithography instead of engraving (it still has raised letters, it's just not engraved into the paper (i.e. you can't see the marks on the back of the invitation) you can save quite a bit of money.

DANG! I didn't do response cards or reception cards or anything, but I got 175 invitations for around 250 ish...They were Rita Renning, lithgraphed or whatever Elisabeth said ^. They are stunning...If I knew how to post I would, they're so different yet still so traditional....*sigh* can you tell I love them?

I can't see why they would cost that much, most of the disney ones I saw were around the same price as mine.

shonnel, is the invitation in a catalog/online or custom stationary shop? i agree that does sound expensive for 50 invitations, i would shop around. you would be surprised how many places carry the same or similiar invitation designs.

check out now-and-forever.com, theamericanwedding.com, invitationswithstyle.com, carlsoncraft.com, theknot.com under ideas&advice - planning. the invitations we're looking at for 50 is in the $300 range with extras.

I am curious exactly what you are getting for that amount of money? I am a graphic artist and do invitations for all sorts of weddings all the time. That comes out to about $20.00 per invitation so I am curious what constitutes your "invitation". Mine rarely ever go over $10.00 per invite and that is because of the paper and printing method that was chosen (paper gets expensive!).

Can you post the details or PM me? That seems like a TON of money. Are they letterpress? type of paper? gold leafing? are they adressing the exterior envelopes for you? etc...

Thats sounds like a lot for such a small amount of invitations. For our post wedding party I think my invitations were around $300.00 and that was for 125 invites, lined envelopes, response cards and thank you cards.

Sounds very high... We paid around $450 for 125 invitations (including response, reception, outer envelope, lined inner envelope, etc...)

Good Luck
Jamie

We got a kit on Clearance at Target that included 40 pieces of vellum, 40 invites, 40 envelopes, 40 response cards (which we are using as thank you cards) and 40 envelopes for those for 12 bucks. We bought 5 kits and had a blast working on the design.

We're just using ours as announcements though but still a better deal than what I found elsewhere.

Thats ridiculous! We made our invitations and save the dates, the total for all of that, PLUS postage, was only about $130 for 90 invitations. That cost also included the color ink we had to get, colored paper, ribbons to tie them with, calligraphy pens and ink (I calligraphy), etc.

We had a guest (who is a printer) order them for us. He gave them to us at his cost. Some options were quite expensive, and the difference between 50 and 400 was very small. I think what you are seeing is a $500 (or so) setup fee. It is nuts for so few invitations, but if you want to use the major companies, then they have their fees. I would shop around.....You could probably have them hand calligraphied for a lot less.
