Past discounts on annual pass?

Last year Disney had a promotion that if you bought your annual pass in January they gave you an extra month. Was that the first time Disney had that offer or could it happen next year? I'm considering buying an annual pass since the college program reunion is in January.

First and only time. It was specifically for the 45th anniversary and I don't see them doing it again any time soon.
