Past crowd levels 3rd week August

We’ve gone to Disney the last week of August for years until this past summer when my son started college and we had to go earlier. We went the week of August 12th, and were surprised how much more crowded it was than we are used to. I know we are spoiled LOL. For next year we are thinking of going the following week, hoping the crowds will be a little better. I was curious if there is a way to see what the crowd levels were this past summer?

I was there on the 18th, 19th, and 20th. I had been watching wait times the previous week, and I think our waits were a little shorter. This year may not be representative of a typical August since some people shifted vacations from September to August to avoid SWGE, and others shifted in the opposite direction to see SWGE.

I can’t compare to the last week because I’ve never been then, but I have been mid August several times and found the crowds quite manageable. Last time was 2018.

I'm not sure the predictive value of this year to next year though, the timing of Labor Day is different and if you're a district that doesn't go back until after labor day, your first day of school is september 8 next year.
