Passports

Should I carry them with us into Paris or leave them in the safety box and carry photocopies with us into Paris.

I always leave mine in a safe, I've never bothered to take a photocopy. What would you need it for?

You must carry with you it is better

I would keep them in the hotel safe and carry photocopies of them with you if you travel into Paris.

Better for what? If you carry it with you it increases the chances of it getting lost/stolen.

I've been to Paris at least 10 times and have never once taken my passport (or a copy) out and about with me.

I always keep a photocopy of my passport with me while traveling. After loosing a passport while in Romania 10 years ago the photocopy came in very handy while arranging for a replacement at the Embassy in Bucharest.
