Passports Alone?

Hi. I want DD17 and I to get our passports, now can I do it alone without her?What ID of hers do I have to take?
And How long do they last before we have to renew them?

You can.

Just do all the online application info and print it off.
Get the pics, her sig. Guarantor's sigs (on form and pic).

Take birth certificate and any other ID she may have and head to the PP office.

Adult PP's are good for 5 years... a 17 year old is likely the same, but my DD & DS's are locked away... and I'm just running out the door to work.

I went in and did passports for DD's and DH - there were new - not renewal. I was able to submit and we received them this morning via delivery. That's 6 business days. I had to send off their birth certificates and I had to take a photcopy and sign DH's drivers lisence (I am the guarantor as I have a valid passport).

I took in DH's and DS's (he is 17), I had this same question so I called Passport Canada to ask if I could bring them in..I was told I could but that I may be asked for letters of consent signed by both dh and ds-was told anyone 16 or over should sign a letter giving their spouse/parent to bring in their application. So I took them and it was okay. But it looks like this is not something that they always ask for as per the posts previous to mine.

just wanted to add that when i had my childrens done DD 6 and DS 4 I needed the long form birth certificate because I don't have the same last name as them. I guess if you dont take your husbands last name they want it done this way. Extra paper work and of course extra money! but with all that it was still only 2 weeks in getting them.
