Has anybody purchased this book?

I just ordered it at Amazon.com along with a birthday present for my son.

I got the 2009 version.

It looks really interesting - spiral bound, a place to put tickets (airline & park), and set up almost like a memory book, where you can write in it, but also has information on Disneyland also.

I think it will be a great item for our vacation next year!

I pre-ordered the 2009 Disneyland book from Amazon. I have used the Passporter for my trips to WDW. I've been so many time now that I do not get them for the information but they make a nice keepsake. I fill in the information and I save my receipts etc. My first one is from 1999, its neat to look back on prices then and what we did.

Yeah - I did the pre-order thing. It looks like it is going to be released sometime in December.

I was mostly just wondering if other had it and if they liked the book. The outlay, the information, etc.

:)

As of now, I am still waiting for this crazy book to be released.

I sent an email, asking if they even plan on releasing a 2009 issue, and then gave up.

Amazon.com canceled my pre-order back in November, and they don't even have a release date on their site anymore.

Last night I decided that I was done with it, and ordered the 2009 Birnbaum Disneyland book, and the Disneyland Encyclopedia.

I am still kind of bummed though. Although the 2 books I ordered got great reviews, I really wanted the Passporter 2009 book.

Oh well. I will be able to do my Disneyland reading soon!!

:woohoo:

I have a Deluxe Passporter (similiar to a day planner) that I've used for my WDW trips and just ordered a set of passpockets for it. I also ordered a cheap 2005 DL Passporter from one of the "used" sellers on Amazon (although mine is not used) and it's got all the planning worksheets and a set of passpockets in the back of it (although it's spiral bound). If you just want the pockets and worksheets, I'd recommend getting the older version, tearing out the old info and keeping the stuff you can use. I have been waiting for the update on the new DL Passporter, and see nothing on the website. I suppose someone could email them and ask. I'll try to do it this evening.

I was looking at this. Havent been to Disneyland or California before for that matter and wanted a good book, despite the problems getting it at the moment, is it a good guide?

I preordered this book on B&N when it's release date was July 2008. My order was eventually canceled. I emailed Jemnifer, one of the authors, and she said that it had not been written yet (this was Aug or Sept). I explained that my trip was Oct. and that I was really wanting this book. She said it would be ready to send for printing in 2-3 weeks from then and that she would be happy to send me an ebook version. I sent her an email accepting. Funny thing is that it never arrived. My email to Jennifer in Nov or Dec was never responded to. It is my opinion that DLR is not a priority to them. WDW and DCL are their priority. They apparently spent a lot of time travelling this year for Mousefest and such. That is their perogative. That being said, there is a pattern here. The WDW Passporter was months late, and DLR is a year or two late by their own admission on their site. Seems like they need to get moving or stop the business. Birnbaum gets theirs out yearly like clockwork. I will not buy another Passporter. It is not needed when you have DIS.

:woohoo:

We have both of these. The Encyclopedia is interesting. We are probably going to take it with us to reference things as we go. We love Birnbaum's. It doesn't necessarily do it for many people, but we like the little info clips on each attraction, restaurant, etc. It also has great photos and maps to look at and get excited! It is a fun read for us! :thumbsup2

That is what I thought would be cool.

We already have from our trip last year :

The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland 2008
Hidden Disneyland and Beyond
The Everything Guide to the Disneyland Resort, California Adventure, Universal Studios, and the Anaheim Area

But this year we are doing 100% Disney, so I wanted to get an extra 100% Disney book.

The books I have a are great, but I am ready to read something different, KWIM??

I have not yet received an email from the passporter people either. I emailed early last week. Doesn't sound too promising about a 2009 book..... Oh well. I am happy with the books I did purchase, as they sound very good.

Oh, I also just ordered the Imagineering Guide to Disneyland. I have the MK, AK and Epcot versions, and love them.

Anybody hear anything yet about the 2009 Passporter Disneyland? Amazon has a 2009 version listed, but it says "not available." The Passporter website says: "we will have a 2009 edition released in August 2008" on this page http://www.amazon.com/Passporters-D...=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1260963126&sr=8-5 But only the 2006 version is for sale on their website. I'm sure Disneyland and California Adventure have changed a LOT in three and a half years! I'd really like the most up-to-date info. Any suggestions?

I ordered the old version, and it's good. I'm kind of expecting some changes at DL and DCA, but it'sa good overview and it has the cool pass pockets.
I wish I could have waited for the new one, but we're traveling 12/28/09.
I recently saw on the Passporter boards that the new one is in publication, and will be available soon.
