Passporter 2005

I did hear that they were held up by the mudslides.

From the Passporter.com site

Shipment Update -- The new editions of PassPorter Walt Disney World will be further delayed! The recent torrential rains on the West Coast caused mudslides that have created major railway disruptions. Our container-load of books is sitting in the Port of Los Angeles until the tracks can be repaired. We don't have a good estimate as to when the container will be delivered to our Michigan warehouse, but let's hope that it will arrive by the end of the month. For those who have yet to pre-order, we encourage you to go ahead and place your pre-order -- we're still the fastest way to get a copy of PassPorter 2005. Thanks for your understanding and patience!

The message about the mudslides has been on their website, for a few weeks now. Hope they update us soon, as to what is going on.

That's right. I've pretty much gave up on a 2005 for myself and made up my own planner with pockets and all. Passporter is a nice book but, still seems to be managed part time.

Are the two guides that I use both have helped us plan our trip for several years now. ::yes:: :wave2:

Exactly :scratchin

I've always enjoyed my passporter, and have suggested it many times to others, but not so sure about their customer service this time around. They are having trouble getting their shipment, which seems to be out of thier control, but had no problem processing my order, and accepting my money over 3+ weeks ago. Hope things get resolved soon.

I agree! I love passporter, but am not really happy that they took my money without having a clue when and if we will get the books!

Quote from the Passporter email newsletter...

"2005 EDITION UPDATE: We're also in good spirits because the 2005 Edition of PassPorter Walt Disney World is finally on the move again. The 40-foot container full of books from our printer in Hong Kong has finally left the pier in Los Angeles and was last seen riding the rails through New Mexico (anybody wave at it as it passed by?). If all goes well we'll finally start shipping books to folks sometime next week!"

Quote from me..."A book worth waiting for"

I'm a little frustrated over this as well. I preordered mine hoping that it would be here by now. Another problem is that it went to print some time back in November so it's already going to be outdated. I know you're supposed to be able to print updates on their website but since I'm already shelling out the money and waiting so long I was hoping for more. Hopefully when it does get here I'll feel it's worth it.

if I should invest in PP or not. I got on their sight and peeked at the 2004 actual sample pages. :earseek: WOW! They are very comprehensive and perfect for an obsessive planner (such as I am)

I think I will give it a try. They offer 20% off to people who peek making the book just under $18.00  . I figure if I'm going to spend a few grand at Disney what's another $20.00 or so (shipping and tax)to invest in planning :confused3 ?

But I think their service has been excellent. Yes they had a situation, but I have received email updates, and even the opportunity to cancel the order. (which i was aware of but it was nice of them to offer) Passporter also gives away the older editions at least once a year (plus shipping) and I have taken opportunity to order these and give them to family members that are planning trips.

I really love my passporters, I have ordered one every year and it is the best place to keep everything pertaining to our vacation. It even fits in the room safes and that's where I keep it.

I feel the same way, they DID have it posted about the delay and they have ALWAYS given great customer service. One year I ordered a book and I put in the wrong year. I wrote them about it and they just sent me the book I wanted with no EXTRA cost to me. That's what I call customer service. I've been ordering one ever since.

Well you must be very lucky. I've E-mailed 3 times with no response, and called Wed. night, with no answer and no call back as promised.

I too, love my passporter, and am anxiously awaiting my new one. I just don't think its good customer service to take someone's money, before you can ship the merchandise. I don't know of too many businesses that do this.

I know it was my choice to pre-order, and hind sight is 20/20. I hope everything works out.

I love my passporter. I purchased my first one in 2001 and loved it so much that I bought the two previous years (99 & 2000) on sale and used them to store my memorabilia from our trips that year. I have since purchased a deluxe edition and I just take the old one out, put string throught the prepunched holes to keep it together and then put a rubber band around it.

I just preordered the 2005 edition and had already read in the newsletter that the shipment was delayed. We use it all the time when we are planning our trips.

We also keep our annual passes in it, so that way I know where they are. All information relating to our trip goes into it straight away. That way it is all in one spot and I don't have to look all over for something.

One year I submitted a "Magical Memory" and it was put in the book. For that they gave me a new edition of the book. I could have gotten a spiral bound one, but since I had already upgraded to the deluxe, I choose the insert. They were very pleasant when they let me know about putting my memory in the book. They called me up to let me know.
