Passport!

I sent off my passport to be renewed last Monday and it came back today which I thought was fantastic until......I realised they have spelt my surname wrong on it!! Its a really obvious mistake as well so clearly someone didn't check it very well!!

Its a also a biometric one, are they given out as standard now???

They are going through really quickly at the moment, I've just renewed eldest DS for him & it was less than 2 weeks!

Unless you book your flight tickets with the same spelling mistake you will have to send it back

I don't think every passport issued is biometric - they are slowly phasing them in

Unfortunatley I need to use it on the 27th when I go to the USA embassy with dh as they won't let me in without it!

Jen, is there a passport office near you that you can perhaps get an emergency appointment for and get this sorted out? Our office in Glasgow has been really good in the past when I discovered a problem with my old passport 2 days prior to a trip to Menorca.

Just had my new passport issued too, its biometric.

On the subject of passports i started a new job the other week and had to take my passport for ID and stupid me left it in my bag whne i got home turned my back and the dog got into it. And of all the things in my bag to eat she ate my passport . so now i have to get another on a as there wasn't a whole page left and worse still i had to send it to the passport office to prove it was damaged. I wish i could see the look on their faces when they open it and out flutters loads of pieces of paper that was formaly known as my passport.

Cathdisneynut, I dont think there is a passport office near me, Im hoping that if I send it back tomorrow I should have back in a couple of days as it only took them 6 days to issue this one and they would have had to check all my info for that.
