Passport and Visa question

I have got a red passport from 1996.

Because of all the new regualations from the october can i still use that one?

Or do i need to get a visa?

You can continue to use your passport until it expires in 2006, and you will not need to apply for a visa.

The new USA immigration regulations state that UK visitors to the USA need EITHER a machine-readable passport issued prior to October 2004 OR a passport containing a visa. As all UK passports issued since about 1991 are machine-readable your passport issued in 1996 will continue to provide entry to the USA without a visa until it expires in 2006.
