Passing out Bussiness Cards... err Vacation cards

Ive read one somewhere LOL to make cards up to pass out to other cruisers, tablemates, and to include with your tip envelops. So I went on vistaprint.com to check out what they have found a cute card that fits us. But wondering what info to include....?? so far i have

The ***** Family
(all of our names)
(address)

email addy

and a quote

is there anything else I should be adding.. I dont want to put ph# just for the simple fact that I hate the phone let alone dont want people to be calling us LOL.

I don't think I would feel comfortable putting my address on that...Do you feel comfortable? You don't know WHO is getting that info..Just like our room number, no way..

Just my thoughts, otherwise I think it is a swell idea..

When I quit working to stay home with my kids I found it frustrating to not be able to whip out a business card when I needed to share my contact info. I ended up making a family business card with a small picture of our family and our names, address, phone number and email. I use it when it is appropriate. I would share it with a fellow cruiser who I had become close enough friends with that we might exchange Christmas Cards, but I wouldn't add it to a tip envelope. Maybe you need 2 cards. One a "regular" family business card and one a limited card just for the cruise. Take some of each and choose which to share in each situation.

I don't see the need for one in the tip envelope but if I was to make cards to give out I would include name, city and state and email. What more does anyone really need?

One year all of the DISers exchanged postcards of their hometown with relevant info on the back (DISname, all family members names, address and email) I still have them in my address book for Christmas card time.

I do like the idea of the family cards. I've seen some fun ones on familylabelsdotcom

I think I remember reading something about a nicely done card with the name only to pass out with you being able to add on the front or back any additional information that you felt appropriate.

I think it's a great idea!!! I use vistaprint for all my business printing, and they are fast and great! As for putting your addy, well, anyone who WANTED to, could easily find out that info with just your name and state.. So, really, i don't see the big deal.. it is public info. And it's not like you are standing on the top deck just throwing out tons of them, they would only be given to fellow cruise pals..
So, i say go for it. In fact, i think i will hop over and order myself some!
