My friend received a card in the mail from Disney offering her a discount on her annual pass renewal if she did it by November 19th. She pulled up the link but the price is about 85 dollars more. She called and got sent to 4 different people who just kept telling her the prices have increased but she kept asking for a manager to discuss it with. She finally got a number to call but they will not be open until Monday.

Does anyone know if Disney will honor these mailings they sent out? One person told her she had to go to the park ticket booth to get the listed price but really...fly to Disney to get the discount, lol? She had just left Disney and came home to this in her mail.

Was the discount given a specific price or a percentage off?

There have been some folks reporting they got a card with a specific price which was based on last year's passes. The answer they all had was that it would be honored in person at WDW and you must bring the original card with you. If it is a percentage off then it would I assume be off the new passes.

A great number of guests with APs don't need to fly to reach WDW.

And, by the same token, make more frequent visits, so it would not be such a burden to arrive in person to take advantage of the offer.

It was a specific price but she is not returning until March past the date listed. The card says it can be purchased online but the link gives the higher price. She was hoping that Disney would honor their offer that they mailed her.

Nope - to get the price on the mailing you have to go in person. My sister and BIL got the mailing with the specific price and even though they only live a couple hours away, they were so angry that they couldn't renew without driving all the way to Orlando, that they decided not to renew at all. I wonder how many other people have done the same . . .

I can understand why it can't be done online, but there should have been some way to do it over the phone - some sort of PIN code on the mailings or something. Considering how abrupt the change was, a little customer service could have made a big difference.

To the OP, in the end, they may be better off waiting and purchasing new passes if they aren't coming back until March. The difference in price would be partially offset by having the new expiration date.
