Just got a Passholder email and logged into the Passholder website to check and see if discounts are available at the Campground. You have to sneak up on it, but there are Passholder discounts at the campground for April & May.

At first glance, it appears that they are not available, but you need to request ANY resort, and once you get results, then go over to the side bar on the right and click Edit. Then you can select the Campground as a choice.

I put in my dates for April (4 nights over a weekend) and it showed a Full Hookup and Premium Hookup site at a discount. I put in 5 nights and it showed all four levels of campsites at a discount.

How do you get these "passholder e-mails?" I am an annual passholder and do I need to register it somewhere?..Just wondering?

Thanks.

Are the passholder rates truely better?

I checked into Florida resident rates for a March stay a while ago, they show up as available, but they are regular rates. Maybe I'll look again...

Edit:
Checked for stays during the latest batch of discounts, 4/19 to 6/6, yup $5 cheaper!

Log into your "My Vacation" account at DisneyWorld.com and there is a place to put in your pass number on the back of your annual pass.

We actually JUST started getting regular passholder emails, even though we've had our passes since August and I was signed up on the Disney site.

Interestingly they just started showing up after I also registered my email addy in a few other places, including a couple of current WDW sweepstakes. Coincidence?

Oh and coolness of all coolness, we got our first HARD COPY of the Mickey Monitor in the mail yesterday! :cool1:

Thanks for the notice, I checked it out and the quoted AP rates for the dates I am going in April were available but higher the AAA rate I already have, by $10 a night!!!

How much of a discount do you get with AAA? I am considering getting AAA. Do you get the discount directly through Disney? Do you have to call them to apply the discount? How does it work? Is AAA discount good all year or just certain dates? We are staying 10 nights in May and I think it's like $85 a night, how much discount would I get off of that?

You can get it directly through CRO or a TA, it is based on availablity. There is no discount during holiday season. My experience has been that the AAA/CAA discount is usually better than an AP rate.

Value Season: 15% off at Value, Deluxe resorts; 20% off at Moderate resorts and Ft. Wilderness cabins and campsites.

Regular Season: 10% off at the Deluxe resorts; 10%-15% off at Value and Moderate resorts and Ft. Wilderness cabins and campsites.

Peak Season and Summer Season: 10% off at all resorts

My Passholder rate was only $1 less per night than AAA rates, but every bit helps!!

I have found sometimes though that the AAA rate is the best rate for campsites.

I have found that most often the AAA discount rate has been better than any other discounts available. It is also more readily available. I have been asked for my AAA number and expiration date for some time now where as years ago they just said to have card ready at check-in.

Carol-
Thanks for the heads-up on the AP discount.:thumbsup2 Even though we have had AP's for two years now, I have yet to get any emails from Disney, except for the Disney Insider and when I make a ressie. I have only gotten a few of the Mickey Monitor's in the mail. I don't know what their problem is!?!?

We went ahead and booked a trip for the middle of May, but I will be checking into the AAA rates to see if it would be worth joining to get the discount. If felt good to start planning a trip again since we are supposed to be there right now for a two week trip but we decided to cancel and not pay the $100 a night rate for the concrete pad. Wished we had went to Turkey Lake though......:sad2:

Thanks again, Carol!:goodvibes

Thanks Carol, I also went on this am and booked a weekend trip for end of April. The rate was $70. I am also considering joining AAA again. I looked up their rate and it was a bit cheeper, but not enough to pay for the membership. We were members for a long time, but the last time we used them was for the MH and they told us we weren't covered. It was about 5 years ago. We had used them for our MH before and there was never a problem. Well they had made that an additional charge and we didn't know about it, now to join for a RV is about $130. I joined another road service and it cost me about $79, it covers all our cars, trailers, rv, and everyone in the household.
