Passholder help needed quickly!

Hi, I really need some help quickly, if any passholders are out there today! I am booked into AK with dining Dec. 19 - 26. I just got an email with a passholder discount code and rooms are still available but wondered if I use the code and save $580 but lose the dining package and have to buy a dining membership and pay 20% on food, will I be more or less ahead than if I stay with the dining plan for two people. I plan to eat at Jiko, Citricos, do the candlelight processional dining pkg and a couple of other signature restaurants...... I have never used the dining membership before. How does it compare with the dining package?

Are you talking about the DDE that you buy for $65? If so you SAVE 20% on your table service meals.. it costs you 80%of your bill. As far as buying the dining plan, it just depends on how much you and your family eat. Personally, I've tried the dining plan 3 times and we don't do it anymore. For us it is way to much food. Also, with the new plan in 2008 I wouldn't be interested in it anyway.

Under the current rules (appetizer and tip included) the DDP is a decent plan. Which way you would save more is tricky. Basically you save the amount of the tip when you use the DDE card. It costs $65 so it takes awhile to break even, but you can use it on all of your TS meals for the next year. It looks like with all of your signature dining you are going to run out of credits and be paying cash for some meals anyway, so the DDE card might work out better for you.

Thanks, yes I am talking about the DDE for $65. If we pay $130 for the card and it gives us 20% off and we have a meal that costs $200, plus a CS for $25 snacks for $8 our day's total would be $233. 20% off is $46 which still leaves us $154 to pay OOP for the day. Times six that is $900 or so - $400 more than the $500 I would save with the AP card discount.... Ok, thanks people, even if we don't have meals that expensive every day and even if we end up paying for one TS oop it sounds like we are not going to save much if any money with the AP discount.

You only get 20% off Table Service meals and one or two counter service scattered around. Example one in AK I think. I don't have the list of restaurants close by. You pay full price for snacks and 99% of your counter service meals using the DDE card. You only need one card for your family as long as the card holder is present at the meal... confused about you spending $130 for the card??

Why do you want to buy 2 cards? You'll only need one for your party of up to 10 people. Even if you really need 2 cards, a second for your spouse is only $25.

I thought I had to buy a meal card for each person - my confusion..... I love this board thanks for yor help with this - I also thought it would cover all the restaurants...
