Passholder discounts thru December!

I could not be happier
Just saved $800 on our October trip to All Stars Music Suites and $2100 on our December trip to ASMSus-- I am so psyched- thank you boards for keeping me informed! you saved me and my family big time!

YIKES!!! I AM FREAKING OUT!

As you can see I have two reservations this year in October and December both in All Star Suites- the problem is I called tonight to see if I could add one more ASMSu to my reservation under my AP res (hopefully with discount of course) for my Parents who live in FL who - after I called my Mom last night with my great news about the rate- asked if I could get her and my DAD a suite ( they would never do a standard room)

HORROR STARTS NOW!!!! Today I Call to see if another suite is available for my parents for the same date of our Dec trip and the CM says no and you are not in a Suite but a preferred room anyways -( not only for our Dec trip but also our Oct Trip though the computer says we were orginally in a Suite for both trips) Long story short the deal was too good to be true I thought with the amount of discount on both trips last night but te CM assured me it was real. So basically what happened when I asked the day before for that CM to apply the new AP discount that CM not only applied it the CODE but downgraded us to Standard for Oct and Preferred for Dec-without my knowledge or authorization!! and now they are telling me they have to research the issue and will get back to me in 48hours but bottom line they dont have Suites for either of my dates now even though I """CHANGED OR LOST THEM" yesterday - So I am totally freaked!!! My two trips that I planned ADRs to the tee and never ever ever would have thought of not staying in a Suite (my husband would freak!!) is up in the air on WDW!- What do you think they will do???? I did advise how to Negoiate?????

OK, so I just called CRO. Waited half hour to get thru, and then gave agent the dates & Pop, and he said great, do you want standard or preferred, then gave all names and ages, and he asked what we celebrating blah blah blah.

Then after over 10 minutes of questions and answers, he said there are no standard rooms available at any of the values for Dec 5 and 6. Wish I'd known that first thing into the conversation!

I just said I'd try back if/when the disney visa code comes out. Not sure what I'll do if I can't get a standard value at Pop. (would really rather have Pop over All Stars, just cuzz I love it there, plus the Pop Warner crowds will be at All Stars).

Try for a preferred room. They're only like $10.00/night higher and are available according to the AP site.

I called one day and the CM told me they hadn't been released (even though I had read on here of people getting the AP discount). I called again, and there was no availability for POFQ during our trip. The only mods available were CBR and CSR. I wouldn't mind changing, but my grandmother would never stay at CBR ever again. And I doubt my uncle would want to change his reservations. What a shame. Oh well, at least someone else has a chance at the rooms!

You just need one AP at check in to get the AP rates, so it may be worth looking into. The room discounts are pretty good. Not sure if they apply to FWL, but I just called for those dates for WL and all that was available was courtyard with bunk.

Just one person has to have it... i.e. can I upgrade my child's this fall, to AP and then get the AP rate other bookings?

It believe it has to be an Adult AP to qualify for the AP room rate. The primary name on the reservation should be the AP holder, and the age limit for renting a room is age 18..

I have a trip already booked for 12/13 to 12/18 at a value resort with free dining. The idea was to do a budget trip since we visited the World in January and the Land in May

Now my crazy husband has asked what it would cost for a theme park view, tower room in the Contemporary for those dates (he's thinking he's going to receive a bonus at work soon plus this is a bday trip for him and our last trip before adding childtren to our family ).

If the savings are as great as I think they are, it'll be worth it to buy at least one annual pass.

Would someone with an annual pass be willing to look up availability for me and the AP rate? Cause I'll give up free dining if we can get in the vicinity of 40% off on that room.

Well Disney Magic happened!
WDW called me yesterday and said that they indeed made a mistake and should not have changed my room but since they quoted me the two rates and sent me and email with the rates they would honor them $2500 under the rate I would have gotten even with the AP code

$823 for 5 nights in Oct in All Star Suite with Regular Dining
$2537 for 11 nights- Dec 24-Jan 4th for All Star Suite with Regular Dining
I am soooo happy- I know this will never happen again but I am so impressed that WDW actually agreed is was their fault and kept their word and of course my incredible rates!!! WDW here we come- twice!

Correct. It's AP discount & pay for dining (or don't get dining at all), or rack rack & free dining.

The previous posters are correct! YOu have to figure out which is a better deal. Usually the FD is best with the Value, but now it seems the Value is only the Quick service dining. Also, the number of people in the room will factor in so be sure to figure that as well. Last fall we had a 54/night value room and changed it to free dining since the difference in the room price no way made up for 3 adults worth of free dining. You can't have 2 discounts like that.
