When you buy passes from a Disney Store, is it considered an advance purchase price or are they the same prices as if you bought them from the gate?

The Disney Store (TDS) tickets are like this.......
They all start at 3 day......the MYW base ticket (no hopper) is exactly the same as at the theme park 3-7days.

The next level MYW base ticket plus Park hopper option starts 3 days..the 3 day is exactkly the same price as the theme park. you sart saving with 4-7 days....up to $8.00 per ticket on the 7day...I think the 4 day saves $2 and so on up to the 7 day savings of $8 per ticket.

Hope this helps...

You save money by buying them at the Disney store as opposed to buying them at the gate because there is an additional luxury tax added on when purchased there. Don't know how much you actually save though. HTH :thumbsup2

Tickets purchased at TDS are sold at advance purchase price where available. Not all tickets have an advance purchase price (example: base tickets) and those are sold at the regular gate price.

You pay the same sales tax on MYW tickets purchased at TDS as you do when you purchase them at WDW: 6.5%. There is no "luxury tax" anywhere.

Granted it has been nearly 2 years since I worked at TDS but the prices were the same as the park (actually at that time it was a little cheaper because the prices hadn't been updated in the computer and we were selling them at the old prices before the rate increase) but my favorite thing about buying tickets at TDS is that you can buy one (that never expires) and put it away until you can afford another, and so on. So you're not stuck buying passes for everyone all at once and helps to make your Disney experience more managable cost-wise.

I'm a TDS CM & our pass prices are the same as if you were purchasing them online at the advance purchase price......No shipping charge though....

GoldenOldie is correct that WDW does NOT charge a "Luxury Tax" on passes purchased at the gate.....

but you can't buy them online can you? you'd have to get them from the disney website for that?

I just purchased 4 annual passes at The Disney Store today, paid $441.98 for adults and $388.73 for kids. There was no additional fees or tax added to that price. They aren't actually tickets, they are plastic credit card type things that say "Exchange Certificate for Annual Pass". Much easier to keep track of then the old voucher style.
