My daughter just started Careerstart. If I go visit her in a few months can she get me reduced price admission to the parks?
Also, is there a limit to how many times she herself can get in free?

Yes she can.

And there is no limit for herself (although I've heard that on days where the parks get filled to capacity, CMs can't go in).

The discounted tickets you can buy as a CM are only like $4-$5 off the regular price...not really worth the drive to the special place you need to buy them. Assuming careerstart offers the same benefits as a CP, which I believe are the same as a seasonal employee, she will be able to get into the parks as often as she likes and be allowed to bring up to 3 other people into the parks up to 6 times.

Yes there is. This year, the whole month of July was blacked out for MK (among other dates).

She should have a maingate that gets her plus 3 guests in 6 times for free. They are indeed subject to blackout dates and I think this year they say you have to call to get the updated blackout dates. Instead of being set, they are rolling blackout dates and constantly subject to change.

As far as discounted tickets, it's about 10% off. I say its worth it to get them because 30 dollars is 30 dollars!

oh yeah. I guess I should know that considering I used them all in June on a trip with my best friend's family. The overseas parks weren't listed though. There is rumor they are going to make you call for the 2009 dates when they send out the passes. We'll see

I have a quick question about all of this, when you get your friends/family in the park are they allowed to park hop? Lets say my family comes up to visit and I get them into AK. Are we then allowed to go over to the Studios or would that cost me another day of guest passes?

When using your Main Entrance Pass, your guests will be given complimentary one day park hoppers upon going through the turnstiles. These are good for re-entry at any of the four main theme parks that day.

It will not cost you any additional uses on your Main Entrance Pass.

As far as discounted water park tickets go, it depends on the time of year. The amount of discount varies.

Blue Main Entrance passes cannot be used to enter Disney water parks.

And, I am planning on visiting my son (who is there now for CareerStart) around the 25th of December. My guess is the week of Christmas is one of the blackout times?

The Christmas Blackout dates vary from park to park, but yes, the period between Christmas and the New Year is blocked out:

Magic Kingdom Park:
24-31 December

Epcot:
24-31 December

Disney's Hollywood Studios:
26-31 December

Disney's Animal Kingdom Park:
26-30 December

Disneyland Park:
20-31 December

Disney's California Adventure Park:
25-31 December

Hong Kong Disneyland Park:
21-31 December

Also, note that the company is able to add or change Blackout dates at anytime. For example, here at the DLR, because of the Miley Cyrus special event, 5 October has been added as a Blackout Date for Main Entrance Passes, as well as Cast Member IDs, at both Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure Park.

I was just curious if anyone knew how many main gate passes you get when you are seasonal? I know you get 6 when u are a CP but i thought someone told me that you get 12 when you become seasonal. Is that true?

Six entrances per year, same as the College and CareerStart cast. Because program cast are technically seasonal cast members to begin with, if you were to change your status, you uses during your program (that year) would count towards your total annual allotment.
