Passenger killed in car, driver 'suspected' of being drunk

maybe not a lunchtime news item

I think that in my case this is a not anytime item.

Bless that young man. So young and such a grisly death :(

I have ZERO tolerance for drinking and driving and that infuriates me beyond belief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is ALL everyone was talking about today at work...

I cannot imagine what all of the parties are going through. Thank God that 1 year old was too young to understand what was seen, imagine if it were an older child!

Ugh.... there was way more to this than than just drinking and driving.

I feel for all involved. Many people's lives will be affected by this for a long time to come.

You beat me to it Dan. I was tryingto find an article online to link to when I saw your post.

This happened not too far from me, about 15-20 miles from what I could tell on the news. for those in the area... did it happen somewhere between Blackwell Square and the Chrokee county line? I guess I'll figure that out when I'm running errands on wednesday in that area.

It just seems so strange to me. Can you imagine being so drunk that you didn't know you killed your best friend and drove about 14 miles with the body sitting right next to you.

They showed the bar owner(manager?) on the news tonight. He said they offer a free ride home to anyone who looks intoxicate (they even showed the van with the advertising on it). He also said that the guys must have been paying cash, because the police already had then check for CC charges.

I wonder what if any trouble the bar will get into. I haven't heard yet how intoxicate they seemed when they left. Iwonder if drugs will show up in either of them.

this is just so sad and tragic. another life cut short, and many lives ruined because of drinking and driving.

I agree with the majority, How can you be soooo stinkin' drunk, you don't know you just decapitated your friend? UNBELIEVABLE!!! And I'm with C. Ann, I also have zero tolerance. I feel for that poor man and his DD!
