Paseo?! Has anyone been yet?!

That looks like an interesting take on chicken and waffles! How was it? Did the duck have a Mexican flavor like carnitas normally would or was it sweeter? Great photos!

The duck was amazing. It was tender and fell off the bone. It did not have a strong flavor. I would definitely go back for the duck. The rest of the dish was good as well, and I would order it again.

In general, I liked the meats more than I liked the carbs. I thought the tortillas and corn masa were gummier than I would have liked.

Thank you guys for all of the information and pictures!

I doubt I will be going there any time soon. It looks very nice but if I'm getting a spendy dinner, it will likely be elsewhere. I might go for tapas and a drink to try it out.

More money then I would want to spend. Seems to be the theme though for downtown disney.

We returned to Paseo for Father's Day brunch today. The Disneyland app only lists evening reservations. We went on Open Table last night and were easily able to make brunch reservations for today. When we arrived, there was a short line (10-15 people) in front of the restaurant. The line was walk-ins and, at noon, they were told it would be approximately a 20 minute wait.

The parks were empty, but the restaurant was much more busy than when I was there two weeks ago. Word must be spreading.

Pork al Pastor Tacos - Three Roasted Pork Tacos, Roasted Pineapple, Roasted Onion, Avocado Salsa, Cilantro, Corn Tortilla

These were excellent. Much better than the fish tacos.

Paseo Waffles - Duck Leg Carnitas, Sweet Potato Purée, Brussels Sprouts, Poached Egg, Chipotle Tamarind Glaze

This is now the favorite item of both of my adult children. Great combo of flavors with the sweet potato, waffles and very tender carnitas.

Mama's Cochinita Pibil - Guajillo Pepper and Homemade Pineapple Vinegar braised Guerrero-style Pork Shank, wrapped in Banana Leaves, Black Bean Purée, pickled Red Onion, Habanero Salsa, Corn Tortillas

This is solid meat with a single bone in the middle. It is tender and juicy. Excellent flavors. Very large serving.

Someone up thread mentioned that Paseo was out of their budget. It is the same price or cheaper than Great Maple, Lamplight Lounge, Cafe Orleans, Blue Bayou, Hearthstone Lounge, Jazz Kitchen and Carthay Circle.

That's disappointing to hear. From their website, I would have expected them to be really good. Nothing beats a great tortilla!

All of your food photos look great. We have two reservations for Centrico in July, but I'm thinking I might need to add Paseo. I got our Centrico reservations on Open Table as well.

HUGE difference between the first visit and this visit. Look at the tortillas around the fish tacos and compare them to the tacos we had today. Neither the tortillas in the tacos nor the tortillas that came with the Cochinita Pibil were gummy. They tasted fresh and had a good texture. I think the first ones were undercooked.

The food looks so good in the pictures! I'm not a huge fan of most Mexican food these days, mainly because I absolutely cannot stand cilantro and it's in everything. I don't like fresh garlic (actually, it doesn't like me!), raw onions, or anything super spicy. The food in your pictures looks great and I'd be interested in what you thought about the spiciness. I love spices, but I don't love really hot or overpowering flavors.

Each dish had a distinctive unique flavor. Nothing was hot spicy, including the salsa. You can see the cilantro on the pibil. It is listed as being on the al pastor, but I couldn't see or taste it. You may be more sensitive than I am. Onions were everywhere. They were marinated and roasted, not raw. The onions on each dish had a different flavor to compliment the dish.

To me, the guacasalsa (fish tacos) and avocado salsa (al pastor tacos) tasted the same. It had lime added which I don't care for on my avocado. My adult kids love it so :confused3

Thanks for that information! Sounds like there are some good options for me, then, if I end up there with friends.

We don't do spicy food either (strong flavors are great, heat not so much) and both Centrico and Paseo have been very good about customizing our food. The food at both restaurants is yummy!
