I've been looking to make reservations for the first week of October for my family of 7. I missed the 180 day mark so everything is booked up. At a few places I found a table for 4 and a table for 3. Will they let us sit near each other? I'm still looking for Be Our Guest for 7. Is this unrealistic? Should I just focus on looking for a table of 4 and 3 of us will miss out?

its not very likely that you will sit anywhere near each other if you make 2 smaller reservations.
they often decide where to seat parties ahead of time in order to juggle where each party is going to fit.
its like a jig saw puzzle really.
the table of 4 may be on the complete opposite side of the restaurant as the table of 3.
you can always asked to be sat together when you check in but its anyone's guess as to whether its gonna work out or not.
if you want to sit together then book the entire party together.
just check daily for openings. people cancel and change their minds all the time.
and most people easily get ADR's that seemed impossible within 45 days of their trip since if you have a package you have to pay up or cancel your package by the 45 day mark so if people have to cancel they also will be cancelling ADR's.

BOG dinner is really hard to get for a large party. You'll have a better chance getting in by splitting up. I'm sure someone will come along and tell you that they were able to get a table for 7 (or 8) easy peasy, but the truth is they got lucky. You might get lucky too. People do cancel, even large parties. I'd search for 7 first, then split up the party. If it's lunch you want, you have a better chance, and even if the reservation is split you'll all be able to sit together since it's self seating. A little trick for lunch is to search for parties of one. If you can book a table for 4, then you can book three tables of one near the same time on separate accounts.

Just keep trying!
I ended up getting everything I wanted for our part of 8 in September....including BOG and Ohana. Takes persistence ... Or if you don't want to keep checking, spend the $8 on the diningbuddy service.
G'luck!!!!

I wouldn't say its completely impossible but don't be surprised if you cant sit together. We were accommodated in this way but it was at WAVE which I am told is not a very popular/busy restaurant. that being said you should just keep trying. Things open up all the time once people cancel due to changes in their plans.

Have you tried searching for tables of 8? I have heard the of people rounding up their odd number party and having better luck.

I would just keep trying, things do seem to open up.

We are trying to get BOG dinner for six in Oct and no luck so far.

Good luck!
