Tag line basically contains my question, but when and how do I request seating by the tank? Is this even possible for a large party? some say there's not a bad seat in the place, others say most seats are lousy unless you are right by the tank. What's up with that?

:thumbsup2 First, good choice...one of our
families favorites
Second, they will accomadate your party of 9...
we had 10! Although I didn't request to be seated
by the aquariums window this last visit, I did
request the window last time and did it ahead of time...
simply ask for it at the time of your reservation
and make sure they haven't forgotten about a
week out. They'll simply arrange tables in the front
for your party. By the way there are no bad seats there!
Good Luck!

I have eaten at the Coral Reef several times, sometimes as a solo visitor and sometimes with family, sometimes next to the tank and sometimes back in the last row of tables.

There are advantages to either location, and I can't think of any table in the restaurant that has a poor view. You will enjoy it no matter where you sit.

By the way ... don't fail to try the Lobster Soup. It's great.

Coral reef is good. If you get a seat up front it's even better. But the whole resturant is really nice.

I don't like it upon the tank you can only see the fish right infront of you.
I like it on the top area so you can see the divers and all fish. to each his own I guess.

Seating at the glass will only accommodate parties of 2 or 4. Across from those tables are booths which have a leaf that can be added combining the two booths that will seat 9. However we have eaten with a party of 7-9 at least 3 times this year and we have always been put at one of the tables on level 2. I agree, that everview is pretty good. However, we we are just the two of us eating we have been put at the glass EVERY time (6 times in the past 12 months).

:thumbsup2 I agree, DH and I prefer to be away from the tank....you get a better overall view of the whole thing, much prettier in my opinion.

We are a party of 11 eating there in January. I was told no guarantees for up front seating when we go, even if we are willing (and would prefer) to split up. Personally, I don't like the row right up against the tank but prefer either of the next 2 rows. I just didn't want the very back row because my grandson is too short to be able to see and I'm not about to let him wander up to bother the diners at the tanks.
