We have had this vacation planned for months and months, all our ADR's booked at 180 days out....we have ADR's at the Castle, Candlelight Processional, etc, etc. Now we have another extra person coming with us, so instead of a party of 6 we are a party of 7. Will some of the resturants let us keep our ADR's as they are????

We have ADR's at:
Via Napoli
CRT
Biergarten
Nine Dragons, able to get a ressie for 7
Sanaa
GF Cafe
Rose & Crown, able to get a ressie for 7
Les Chefs for the Candlelight Processional
and Norway with the Princesses

Any more likely than the others to work with us???

I'm curious about this also since the same thing is happening to us for our Jan. trip (instead of 10 we will be 11). I'm so glad you asked!! I'm really hoping it's not a big deal because I'm not cancelling and rebooking!

I asked this question about a week ago. Im in the same boat 6 going to 7. Would like to hear where people had any luck with this! We will be there the same time as OP!:santa:

We had this problem when we went in August BUT we went from 5-6 people. Every restaurant accomodated except Mama Melrose for the fantasmic package. My husband ended up taking all the kids and they gave him an extra pass for the show for me. I thought that was nice:) and Coral Reef and they accomodated us when we showed up.

What you have to remember though is most tables are either 2, 4, or 6, so I don't know what would happen if you went from 6-7. You can't modify on line you have to call disney. My advice too, try and be flexible with your times and maybe you will have better luck. Another thought: if you can't change just show up and maybe they will accomodate you.

we have gone up to an "odd" number in the past as well, mostly at the last monute when someone else in our party wanted to go. Places have always found a place to squeeze the other person in. It may mean that you have to sit a little closer at the table that you were already assigned.

Once we waited a short time for a table located in a little better spot to accomodate the additional person.

I would not worry. Unless it is sometime like the Fantasmic package or another unique situation you should be good! :thumbsup2

Do what you can to change them.

You can show up with the extra person, but if the restaurant is full to capacity, they will not be admitted. Your party will then have to decide whether to go in without the extra person, or if all of you would prefer to eat elsewhere.

I called this morning and the computer wouldn't let the girl change any of the ressies from a party of 6 to 7. She said that we shouldn't have a problem when we check in at the podium of each resturant. I hope she is right on that. I was concerned about CRT, so I did reduce our ressie at CRT to a party of 5. I am also concerned about the Candlelight package. I hope it works out!

The Candelight meal will have to be changed, as it is prepaid. There will be no option of just walking up and adding someone.

We are on the dining plan, so didn't prepay for anything....well other than the plan that is. I might call back and talk with someone else about this.

Get as many as you can changed. You can show up with extra people and hope they will be seated, but there are no guarantees. The CM who told you you shouldn't have a problem should not have said that. Well, to be exact, she said you "shouldn't" have a problem. Not that you "wouldn't". No guarantee in "shouldn't".

You will need a larger table going form 6 to 7 people. That is your first obstical. Second one is that if the restort is at capacity, even if they have someplace they could in theory fit another guest in, they won't be able to.

Do what you can ahead of time to change your ADRs. And then hope for the best (but prepare for the worst) with the rest of them.

She actually did say shouldn't not wouldn't...no there is no guarantee in that. She said she works in Epcot and that most of the resturants shouldn't have an issue with adding another person and that they will try to work with us as much as they can, but I do realize we are going from a table of 6 to basically table of 8, so we might have to be flexible. She said usually the problem is when people want to add several more people, not just one. I was able to book a few new ressies online for 7, I changed a few of the ressies to only 5 of us and will just show up with the 7 of us for a few and hope that they workout.

The ones I wasn't able to change, but am thinking won't be a problem are:
Germany and Via Napoli, but I could be wrong....I guess we will find out in a few weeks.

Candlelight Processional is not prepaid. There is a no-show fee if you don't cancel and don't show up, but you pay at the restaurant.

I know what they told you...but if the restaurant is full, the extra person is NOT getting in.

We had luck adding 1 person on at LC...but for our BD FDP (which required cc hold for DDP) they wouldn't let us add anyone on.

It's best to get all ADR's requiring cc modified prior to leaving for trip.

Thanks for the correction, that is what I was thinking but not typing. :headache:

i have been able to change a few in the last few days! The best was ohana:scared1:! Couldnt believe it! the CMwas equally as shocked!! she said that you would have a 50/50 chance of getting in @ the door. pre-paid meals and cc hold meals are harder to get into. Shedid say the best time to try to snag the harder ADRS is one week prior when people are finalizing their plans! good luck!!!!! im still working on le cellier! hopefully ill get some pixie dust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

We have never had a problem adding people (and I mean more than one) to our ADR! We go at spring break, and usually find another family we know, and have had no problem adding people to the res. I think if you made the effort to get the reservation, they are pretty accommodating which is nice!

We are more than willing to work with what we are given...we don't have to have every meal together:rotfl: If they are full my brother and his DD will do something else.

We are actually going to have only have 5 of us go to the CP, since my DB & DN really aren't into it as much as we are, so we will drop one person.

We will go with the flow and it will all work out:santa:
