Hello,

very beginner question, we have always stayed onsite and we are a traveling party of 5 so Disney resorts are too limited for our taste. Looking for a suite hotel, and came upon the Wyndham but it looks new - is it a new hotel or renovated.

In any case, we would like:
1- a roomy room for the three kids to space out
2- shuttle to the parks
3- a nice pool
4- pipe dream, but do any hotels offer airport shuttles to save the $60+ cab fare
5- reservations cancellable as late as possible cause we are flying standby

I would appreciate any suggestions!

The only hotels that have free shuttles to the airport are going to be the one located by the airport. Have you looked into the family suites at the ASM. They sleep 6 and have a kitchenette. You would get your free airport shuttle as well. And has two bathrooms

If the Wydham you are refering to is the one at DTD it is not a new hotel. They took over the old Regal Sun hotel and I am not sure if they remodeled it.

Not sure what Wyndham you are talking about. If you're talking about the Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort (WBC), yes it is pretty new and the older rooms have been refurbished. And it's closer to the parks than any of the Disney Value resorts.

Understand that Wyndham Bonnet Creek (with the exception of the Wyndham Grand Hotel) is a timeshare resort...which has both advantages and disadvantages for a guest.

All of the responses below pertain to Wyndham Bonnet Creek Resort timeshares.

A WBC 2 bedroom would give you sleeping space for 8, two bathrooms, and plenty of room. Can be rented for WELL under $1000 per entire week through various established renters.
2- shuttle to the parks
Yep. It's a scheduled shuttle, rather than the "who knows?" scheduling Disney uses, but there are holes in the schedule at midday. But yeah, you can get to all the parks fairly easily and free.
3- a nice pool
I'll resist the temptation to tease you here. FIVE nice pools (6 including the hotel), two of which have great lazy rivers and two others of which have waterslides (48" height requirement). And abundant FREE tubes at the lazy rivers.

Also, FREE mini-golf and lots of kids activities. I fearlessly predict you will spend at least one day AT the resort.

Not WBC, and as the other poster said, probably not any hotels near WDW.

Whereever you choose, you should verify the exact terms. WBC is a timeshare, and if you are renting a reservation from an owner as mentioned above, the cancellation policies may vary from a traditional hotel.

However, if your arrival is delayed, you may be able to just shift your arrival time without cancelling the reservation. Again, check the details of those requirements.
