We have 6 in our family, although one is a 1 yr old. When I booked 2 TS meals the CM said that gratituty was added to the check for us. Has this been everyones experience when one is a baby? I can understand if we are paying for 6 meals, but we are getting 5.
When we were out at the Olive Garden last week, we had 7 plus the baby. The waitress told us up front (without us asking) that the tip wouldnt be put in our bill since we were ordering 7 meals not 8. I said okay- no problem.
I dont mind having it added in if we meet the requirements of a large party, but Im not sure about how Disney is looking at this. Our DD MIGHT eat a few bites off one of our plates (she is a horrible eater and I always bring her own food anywhere we go), but evidently if she were 3 mos. and not even eating table food we would still be billed for gratuity since we are 6:confused3

Anyone have any experience with how this worked with your family of 5 plus baby? Thanks

You are a party of 6 so yes you will have the automatic gratuity.

Please discuss tipping on the Tipping Info thread stuck to the top of this board.

The OP has the answer - the infant counts toward party size, so yes, 18% automatic tip for a party of six or more is in effect. According to all reports, WDW strictly enforces this policy.
