Party of 2, "your tiny table is ready" DR 2/16-2/23/17. Complete

:offtopic: I know this is a dining review but I have to say I LOVE your black Mickey sweater in the first picture, where did you get it?

Great that you felt comfortable splitting up, so you could have some relaxation time, and she could hang-out with her friend!! Teppan- Edo sounds great, but I always find sushi so expensive for the portion sizes, I only like when it's an all-you-can-eat situation! LOL!
I always get a little nervous even though Andi is seventeen, lol. She knows WDW like the back of her hand and now on trips I follow her. Tokyo Dining was really delicious, I agree about sushi being expensive and I am always hungry one hour after eating, ha! ha! The tempura battered entree that I had was quite filling. I would eat there again.

That roll looks soo good sushi is my all time fave
I know how much you looove sushi!

Your tour sounds like a ton of fun, and what a good idea to do it on such a busy day. I can't wait until Casey is big enough for some of those things. Speaking of big enough, love Andi going out on her own and still photographing her food. You're totally raising that one right :-)

Loving your meal at Tokyo Dining. Casey and I actually ate there by ourselves once and somehow ended up with a window table. Still not sure how that one happened :-) But your food looks awesome. Love that the calamari wasn't typical ring style and their tempura is oh so good. And yum on Andi's roll. How spicy was it? Trying to see if my slushi girl could handle it :P
We really loved the tour, before you know it Casey will be leading you around Disney and know way more than you do about it lol. I use to be the leader, I am now the follower. She loves to photograph the food, she is the one who encouraged me to write my dining reports.

I really enjoyed Tokyo Dining, the calamari was thick steak pieces so different than the rings, I really liked it. The tempura there was so good. Andi's Roll had fresh jalapeño and she would just take little pieces of the jalapeño on the roll so it wasn't overpowering. The fresh jalapeño are really spicy so it could be really spicy if you left them whole on the top. I bet your slushie girl would enjoy it:lovestruc

Love your reviews and pictures!
:welcome:, Thank you for reading along and commenting!

Love the reviews! Sushi and fried stuff...Tokyo Dining sounds right up my alley
:welcome: Thank you, the food at Tokyo Dining was really good. I love the tempura they use.

These are 2 of my favorite snacks! The carrot cake cookie is heavenly :cloud9: I discovered that cookie in MK last January and have gotten one (or two) ever trip since.

I'm glad they were so great about Andi's allergy :) We tried their ice cream in Nov. It was good - it's hard for ice cream to be bad lol - but I think I'd pick Beaches and Cream over Ample Hills.

That's my wine!

DH and I did this tour last August and I have been raving about it ever since! We absolutely loved it!! I had been looking forward to it, but was blown away by how great it was. We had an awesome tour guide as well which I believe 100% can make or break the tour, but really FW is so interesting when you get to know all the details :goodvibes I loved seeing the lounges, too.
That cookie is awesome, I'm with you the sundaes at Beaches and Cream are awesome! I usually like big bold red wine, but I really enjoyed the Moscato with the seafood.

I agree about the tour it was so good, we have really lucked out with tour guides on the 3 tours we have done at Disney. I read a report on here about the Epcot tour and the person reviewing it had a really bad guide, so much so they complained and got a refund so I was a little nervous about it. Our tour guide was Maryann in Epcot and she did a great job.

:offtopic: I know this is a dining review but I have to say I LOVE your black Mickey sweater in the first picture, where did you get it?

No worries, my sweatshirt is from Uniqlo at DS, I got it when we were there this past August. :)

2/21/17, Day 6. Rope Drop Epcot for ADR at Garden Grill and Sci-fi diner at HS for dinner.

Hello everyone,

Today we headed out to Epcot for our ADR at 9:45 at Garden Grill. We tried this breakfast in October and we enjoyed the food, however, our service was quite poor. We did not get coffee refills and barely saw our waitress. We decided to give another try because we did enjoy the food and the character interactions. We got to the park right at rope drop and we were the first in line for Joy and Sadness. What an awesome meet and greet. Sadness came out and grabbed Andi's hand and walked around with her and then Joy came bouncy out and joined them. They really do spend so much time with you so this was nice. We also went to San Fransokyo to see Baymax, we then headed to the Land for our breakfast.

We were seated quite quickly and we had a small booth table on the rotating lower level, our tiny table was somewhat attached to a larger booth which was unoccupied until almost the end of our meal so that was a plus. We had a nice waitress, our service was better this time around. I went with Diet Coke this morning and Andi went with a Coke (aren't we healthy this morning :rotfl2:). Our food arrived quickly, the Chip's sticky bun bake came first and our bowl of fresh fruit. The center of the sticky bun was very good, the edges were more dry and firm, there was plenty soft gooey goodness to enjoy! The bowl of fruit was fresh and tasty.

Our skillet arrived shortly after with Mickey waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and crispy tater tots. The food was very hot and fresh. The eggs were very tasty and the perfect consistency. There was salsa to add to the eggs. The tater tots here are so good, they are crispy and flavorful. The waffles were Disney waffles, what's not to like. The bacon was crispy, the sausage was meh, nothing special. We chose syrup for the waffles because of Andi's allergy no Nutella for us. We were able to enjoy a good portion of our breakfast before characters started coming around so it was good timing. We really enjoyed the interaction here. Two thumbs up for a comforting experience, decent waitress, good food and great characters. Total was $66.53 with AP discount.

Continued from Day 6.

We went back to AKL for some down time before our FP+ at HS. We arrived in HS about 4:00 and did our FP+ and then headed to Sci-Fi for dinner at 6:30. We were seated right on time and as usual we were the hitch hikers in the back of a vehicle. We do love this place, it is so relaxing and chill in there. This is our 4th or 5th time here. We got a nice little note welcoming us back. We decided to split the Spicy Buffalo Chicken appetizer, the build your own burger with cheddar cheese, caramelized onion, and mushrooms. We also split the Oreo cookie milkshake. Our meal was very good, I enjoy the onion rings more than the buffalo chicken but Andi really wanted the chicken so I agreed. The burger was fresh and made to order, we always have a good burger here. The milkshake was really delicious except I swear the last time we got one it was bigger, this was small. We could have each had one. We also had ice water. Our waitress was very good. She was friendly and efficient.

This was a good meal and like I said we just loved the atmosphere here. Two thumbs up for Sci-Fi. We did get a 10% AP discount so our total was $37.66. We did a little shopping, met up with Mickey and Minnie in there Hollywood setting and then headed out. We saw the Star Wars show from afar this time. pixiedust:

I will add your enthusiastic review of Sci-fi to the list of reasons why I am definitely going there in January!! Garden Grill seems so cute too, and that sticky bun-OMG!

Ugh yum I love buffalo chicken so tasty. Sci fi is certainly on my list of faves

So good to hear GG was a better experience for you this time around and loving your Joy and Sadness pics.

We're huge fans of SciFi too. Of course you really can't beat the atmosphere and adding in great food to boot is a win for everyone. I'm a huge fan of the onion rings too, but I'll have to give the wings a whirl sometime. I love all things buffalo

Sci-fi has always been a winner for us, I would definitely put it on the list, it is nice for a lunch or dinner, depending on the day and sharing works well there if you have a larger meal elsewhere. I could not pass up the 20% at Garden Grill, we were very happy with food, waitress, and the characters of course!

Great reviews of GG! I also love Andi's sweatshirt!
Thank you, it was chilly most mornings and evenings on this trip, we wore sweatshirts and pants more than any other recent trip. My pet peeve is the aircon is always blasting even when it is cooler! Andi bought her Epcot sweatshirt this trip. GG was very good for a comfy fill you up breakfast!

Aaaaand Tokyo Dining just made my list. Everything you guys had looks so good! :)
We loved Tokyo Dining, delicious and the staff was so friendly and attentive! We will put this on our list again for sure!

loving this report! your daughter is beautiful!
Thank you for reading and commenting! Ahh and Andi says thanks, we always laugh at our pictures because both of our hair does some weird stuff in Florida lol!

Sci-fi is wonderful for a chill meal for sure. I know how much you love spicy buffalo chicken!

Joy and Sadness really are an awesome meet, it was fun being the first to meet them that morning. I couldn't pass up the discount at GG, glad we tried it again.
The buffalo chicken bites are boneless at Sci-fi and very tasty, not my favorite in general but I really did enjoy them.

Hello everyone,

I thought before I update on our last full day:worried: I would show you all the different snacks we tried, this is mostly the sweet ones. I also found a picture of Andi and I on her very first trip to WDW, she was five!
IMG_0837.JPG

Most of our snacks come from the Confectionery and Story book treats.
IMG_9665.JPG IMG_9666.JPG IMG_9755.JPG IMG_9756.JPG IMG_9757.JPG IMG_9759.JPG

I also wanted to show you a picture of my son, even though he is not a big Disney fan, he loves SW and told me he will come back to WDW when SW land opens, he is almost 6 years older than Andi so to get the two of my babies together can be hard.:flower3:

Loving your throwback pic!!! And suddenly craving lots of chocolate and rice crispy treat. I have no idea why :-)

We ate at Tokyo Dining for the first time on our most recent trip, and we really enjoyed it. My husband & I both love sushi, and ours was very good! That carrot cake cookie looks so delicious every time I see someone post a pic of it. I'm gluten free, so it's off limits for me, sadly. I've been wanting to try GG for breakfast, but again, to me the highlight is that huge sticky bun, and I can't have it, darn it! Love the throwback pic. How adorable!

Hey everyone, I made an error in my sweet snack update, the Big Top Souvenir shop is where we got the snacks not the Story book treats sorry, Andi corrected me. We love the smell in those places they lure you in lol!

Joining in a little late . wanted to comment on the table for two situations. We were a party of two in the fall and had similar bad tables. Yachtsman - up against a wall - via Napoli wasn't as bad but close to others -homecoming we waited for a bigger table after seeing the twp top we would have been given practically at the hostess stand. At captains grill for breakfast , the place was almost empty and they wanted us to sit next to the loud big table. The host couldn't believe we wanted a different table and got on his Little earpiece and said they don't want this table ! Can I seat them somewhere else ? Seriously , the place was 1/4 full if that . If it had been busy , I wouldn't have asked but after our earlier experiences we were over the crappy two top deal. Thanks for letting me vent ! Looking forward to the rest .

Loving your reviews! Your review of skipper canteen made me a little less nervous about bringing the picky eaters there in December :-)
