I just started looking into booking my flights for Food and Wine. We always go over Halloween weekend and attend Party for the Senses.

I saw on the limited information available that there is no PftS on the 30th. Does anyone know what's up with that?

And I also saw that the times were changed and it now doesn't start until 7:30 - which means if you want to see Illuminations at 9:30, you get less than 2 hours at the event - which is NOT GOOD.

Thoughts? Info? Anyone else confused/irritated by this?

Thanks!

October 30 is a Sunday. PFTS are usually on Saturdays.

If you mean October 29, there will not be a PFTS on that Saturday because it appears the Festival will be premiering a new event that night, featuring celebrity chefs and their children, presenting healthy recipes for families and no booze - non-alcoholic beverages only. There is no information yet on what the event will be called or how much it will cost, but chefs Andrew Zimmern, Bryan Voltaggio and Chris Cosentino have been named as possible participants.

I am quite irritated about the date as my intent was to attend the PFTS on October 29, but I will now likely be attending on November 5. I have no opinion about the time change as I am not interested in Illuminations.

It looks like Illuminations is at 10pm some nights in the fall.

Yes, I meant the 29th - I looked at the calendar incorrectly.

I guess we will go down the weekend before. A dining event with no wine that is full of healthy food is NOT part of our plan!

Thanks for the responses.
