Partial stay with DDP???

Sorry if asked and answered, couldn't get search to cooperate today.

My other half is going to WDW 6/1 - 6/15, staying on DVC points and getting the DDP for themselves.

Due to work and family obligations, I cannot go for the 15 days. I will try and go for 7 days. My question is: if I am there for only 7 days, do I have to pay for the DDP for 15? DVC has told us, that I would have to pay for the entire length that the room is booked (15 days). I assumed I would only have to pay for the days I am there, and on the reservation. If I have to pay for the 15, I may opt not to go just to save the $$$.

If they've told you the policy it is what it is. Now you have to decide how to afford and enjoy those credits. One thing you could do is buy the Basic DP for the group and then your extra credits can be used for some 2TS meals.

It sounds like you need the vacation, so definitely go and eat very well while there.

Understand you only have to buy the DP to match the 15 days you don't have to buy a park ticket for any more days than you plan to enter the parks.

The other thing you can do is (try to) split the existing reservation into two parts - one when you're not there, and the other starting the day you check in. That way, your other half can get the DDP for him/herself for the nights you're not there, and both of you can get it for the nights you're both there.

Yes, the policy is that everyone on the reservation must purchase the DDP for the entire length of the reservation.

I would split the reservation into two reservations (with corresponding DDP) and see if you can link these reservations so you don't have to change rooms.
