Whelp...Yesterday I was asking you guys about which broker to use and which option to pick. Dvc-rental found a resort that met our dates. We have decided on Polynesian Deluxe studio lake view. I am soooo excited and still can't believe the price! Woohoo! I filled out the information form and sent it back to dvc-rental along with our deposit ($120). They sent me our reservation number and I looked it up on the WDW website. Everything is on there and looks good. I am sending payment tomorrow. My question is now what? Do we go through them for tickets and dining or can I add via the WDW website since our reservation is now there? Also, is there anything I need to be worrying about? Reservations being canceled on us, etc. It just seems too easy right now. Grateful but nervous!

tickets you can purchase directly from disney. link them to your my disney experience and link your reservation. dining is up to the owner. some owners will add dining for you and some wont. also ddp on dvc points need to be paid in full at the time its added

^^What the PP said.

If you decide to do the dining plan, you have to pay it in full at the time and you have to add it at least 30 (or 45) days before the start of your reservation. You should do a cost/benefit analysis of the DP. Most people don't think it's worth it. For your kids, since they are older than 9, they pay adult prices for the DP.

As to your question about whether the reservation can be cancelled, it's rare but it does happen, usually because maintenance fees aren't paid up. But the broker should confirm with the person who made the reservation that MF are paid up.

Actually DVC owners can add the DDP up to 48 hrs prior to check in. Not sure what the broker's policy is but DVC does not require 30 (or 45) days like Disney CRO packages.

OP, the DVC owner has to add it for you but I don't know of any broker that does not make adding a dining plan if the renter wants it mandatory for the owner. In other words, if you want the dining plan and you rented from a legitimate broker you can add it. As DVC owners, we can add it up to 48 hours before check in but I am sure the broker requires payment way before that. (The DVC owner has to be notified, paid and add the DDP themselves). I think you made an excellent choice!!! Don't go second guessing yourself. You're going to have a magical Disneymoon :)

Ooh, 48 hours? WOW, that's nice to know. :)

Don't forget to add 3% (or whatever the PayPal fee is) to the cost of the dining plan, if that's how the broker accepts payment.

When do I have to pay for and add my dining plan to my reservation?

The funds required to add your Disney Dining Plan must be received no later than 30 days prior to your check-in date. This ensures that your renting member can be contacted in enough time to add your dining plan.

Is the pricing the same as what I would pay if I had booked a package through Disney?

The funds which you pay to add your Disney Dining Plan are a pass-through for the DVC Rental Store in that we simply pass the funds along to your renting Disney Vacation Club member in order to add your plan to your reservation via DVC Member Services. Because of this, we add a 3-4% surcharge (actual surcharge percentage varies according to rounding calculation) to Disney’s prices to offset PayPal/Credit Card receiving fees. This is to ensure that the DVC Rental Store does not lose money when adding your plan to your reservation.

Please note that a Disney Dining Plan can not be added via an ACH bank transfer payment or by utilizing guest supplied Disney gift cards.

Yup. it's 48 hours for the owner but I'm sure the broker has a different time frame :crazy2:

Just to answer about tickets (because you already got accurate info about the DDP)...

You can buy your tickets anywhere. You don't have to go through the broker or Disney. You can buy from any legitimate ticket seller and add them to MDE. In fact, if you have leftover tickets, you can use them. One of the great things about DVC is that you don't have to purchase a package (room+tickets) in order to have the dining plan. So, buy your tickets from whatever source offers you the best deal.

It's not that far out. I've added it several times very much within that time frame, even the day before the trip. The requested time frame is 5 days.

Hi! Thank you for all the great replies! I was quoted $1,678.44 for 4 day Park Hopper. I know I should pay ASAP because the prices are going up any day but I have to wait for my "fun money" paycheck. Ugh. Since we are only doing 3 nights, 4 days my husband suggested we finally try Universal. o_O I am a bit of a Disney snot but the kids are older (12 years old) and we all LOVE roller coasters. I guess one day on "The Darkside" will not kill me. LOL

The current price of one 4-day MYW adult park hopper is $419.61 (includes tax). There was a price increase last week. The price that you were quoted is the post-increase price with no discounts.

Thank you Marionnette! That was the price our broker gave us. He said it was exactly what Disney is quoting. Since the prices have already increased and we are not going until the end of July is there any rush for us to buy our tickets? Also, should I search on here for information regarding discounted tickets? This is a whole new world to me. This will be our forth visit to WDW. In the past we went straight with Disney. This year we went with a DVC points broker and open to getting tickets from a reputable third party. Thank you in advance!

Yes, there is a reason to buy now! Some ticket sellers still have inventory left at the old prices. Once they sell out of their old tickets, their new ticket prices will be based on Disney's current prices.

For instance, on UCT the current price of an adult 3-day MYW hopper w/free 4th day is $365.95. Compare that to the price of an adult 4-day MYW hopper purchased from Disney.

Oh! And I assume we need our tickets to set up Fastpass?
You cannot do FP+ reservations without having tickets in MDE attached to each person traveling with you. People staying onsite can begin making FP+ reservations 60 days prior to arrival at your resort. Those staying offsite must wait until 30 days before the FP+ date.
