I'm a cast member that was just put on a wait list for part time employment. Does anyone know about long it could take for a position to open up? I was wait listed for F&B or Attractions. The interviewer did say that cast members come first on the wait list before other applicants but I was wondering if anyone had ever been in this position and how long it took.

Thanks!

Depends on whether or not you specified locations.

Here's a response I posted to a similar question in a different thread:

Waiting lists are not based on first come first serve, they are based on company status and senority. The following is how it works for STCU roles.

Imagine 5 buckets:

Bucket 1 - Full time STCU
Bucket 2 - Part time STCU
Bucket 3 - Full time/Part time other (i.e., O&T)
Bucket 4 - Seasonal
Bucket 5 - Non-Disney

Each person is lined up inside their respective bucket based on senority and hire dates(depending on the specific bucket). An entire bucket must be depleted before they go to the next one.

I'm taking a guess that you are currently CR in a STCU role? So you are in the second bucket. I do not know which locations you are waiting on, but sometimes there is enough demand that they can fill everyone out of those in the first bucket... other locations have no waiting list and it falls to people in the 5th bucket.

Good Luck!!

I'm in the exact same position, but for character attendant. But that seems so confusing lol, I wish we could see our status on the hub or something.

When my daughter's CP program was ending, she was put on the part time/full time wait list and it took about a week before she was offered part time (she is still waiting for full time). She went in to casting about two weeks before her last day of the program and she was lucky to learn about her position before the program ended. Her current roommate also did the exact same thing and also found out in about a week's time. Both are in entertainment.

Casting did specifically mention their "clean" record cards when they went in, not that it made any difference but she did say casting definitely made it a point to discuss it and point it out.

Casting did tell them it was all based on seniority and how many people might be ahead of them seniority-wise. I think they both really got lucky and applied when there had been positions available. This was back in May and she is still waiting for full time.
