Is it difficult to go from part time to full time
Whats the process if you want to stay in the same area??
anyone know?

If there is a position open I don't see why you couldn't apply for it (you must have worked in the area for 6 months, I believe). Call casting 407-828-1000 and there is an option on there for current CM's to ask about new jobs, etc. Goodluck!

Also be aware if you have insurance as a part timer, you will now become eligible for another type of insurance aka there will be an gap in your coverage if your not careful. So be sure to ask about that too.

Talk to casting as suggested above as they would have all the info you need, but also talk to your managers, they can usually help with that too. You can stay in your area if your area has a full time position open or you can be waitlisted for one to open in your area. Now granted it was way back in the day of the Dinosaur, but when I went from Part time to Full time, all I did was tell my manager and they sent me to HR right there at my location. I signed a piece of paper and HR sent it to casting with the open rec for a full time postion. It took about a week or two to process but I didn't "do" anything, between the manager and HR it was all done for me!

Talk to the managers of your area and they will direct you. It is a simple process, but again if there is not a full time position open in your area and you don't want to transfer you will have to be patient.

1) I went the other way - full time to seasonal.
2) However, I got all the info on returning and options.
3) Here was the official explanation
. . . six months as part time
. . . apply to HR at the location or through Casting or through your manager
4) The unofficial process was also explained
. . . tell the manager you want full time
. . . if a spot is available, they sign a form and off to HR you go
. . . you return as full time

NOTE: With the massive shortage in manpower, you could probably transfer to full time by simply hinting at it. Right now, they are taking almost everyone, and you don't even have to chew gum and walk at the same time.

You need to go to casting and put in for full time. If you want to stay in your current area, then you list it on the form as your location choice. The area has to have a full time req open before you can move into it. I don't know what area you are in right now, but there could be a wait or they could call you right away with the transfer date. Good luck!:)

Hey I Totally Fit That Description!!! Sounds like time for me to apply!!!:rotfl2:

I soooo wish I could.

just went full time. all i did was go in and fill out a form at casting. took me about 5 minutes to fill it out. I got a call in two days with an open position.

I went from part time to full time and I'm now back to part time. The process was very easy and you will usually get an answer within 2 days. It does take two weeks for your status to change.

There does have to be a FT position open in your department (I'm in buses, no problems there)

You can do it on the portal if you wish (avoids dealing with casting), go to hourly transfers section and fill in the form. To stay in the same dept. fill in your department in the transfer to box. You don't need 6 months in your current position to transfer to FT in the same dept.
