Sounds like my plan. Trying to get all the decorating done by this weekend so I can bake like a madwoman the weekend after we get back. Usually make 10-15 different kinds of cookies. DD & DH have already put in requests :-)

We (and by "we", I mean "she") USED to bake 10 to 15 kinds of cookies. My brother (who is 7 years younger than me) played College Basketball for SUNY-Binghamton (hold on, I'll tie it all back in a second). They had a game in Vegas one year, and he had to leave X-mas eve, around 4 PM, to catch his flight. She made enough cookies to feed his entire team, plus some. We (and by "we", I mean "she") literally filled a rolling duffle bag full of cookies. It was madness.

The year after our youngest was born, she decided it was time to "scale back". 8+ kinds (plus my peanut butter blossoms..which means we usually end up with 10) is her...scaling back. :goodvibes

I think we all would have been shocked if you had said all your shopping was done. :goodvibes

HA! :lmao: I actually love the fact that you know me so well ... we're bonded ;)

Actually, all this talk of leaving in the next few days is quite emotional, after so many months of planning, supporting, laughing, crying. I feel like all my little ducklings are venturing out into the Big Wide Disney World. I'm nervous & excited for you :goodvibes

Ok, I'm good now.

Good thing Disney is a pretty safe place! ;)

Valgoof... Any update yet? Or did I miss it?:confused3

I may hurt DH before this is over. The boss has a conference call with his boss today so he told DH we should know today if/when he can switch positions. I was talking to DH at lunch and said, dont forget to ask about the vacation issue. DH says, oh we are way too busy right now for me to be asking about vacation. :scared1: What??!! And the supervisor of that department is off this week so he doesn't know if they will tell him anything or wait until she comes back. So I could find out on 12/3 that I am leaving for Disney on 12/8, assuming there is still availability. I really might kill him.

I am a little nervous too. Normally you just worry about your own trip going well with good weather, short lines, etc. But now we are invested in sooooo many trips, hoping they are all magical. It is a lot for Disney to live up to. pixiedust:

You know with our trip report thread we are going to start - we should have some contests.... Like best food porn pic, nicest CM, best Photobomb etc...

LOVE this idea!!! :thumbsup2

OMG that is a TON of cookies! Your "scaled back" baking is still double what I do for our big family party on Christmas Eve. Hmm.....come to think of it, what with getting back from WDW the day before Christmas Eve there's no time for me to do all that baking. Oh, gosh, gee, shucks. I'm just devastated! :rotfl: I am going to have to remember to order a birthday cake for the baby Jesus though since I won't have time to make one. Mom would skin me alive if I forgot that!

I was thinking that just this morning when I checked the weather for our trip. I don't want rainy days for any of us!

I'm freaking out just reading your post! :scared: Even if it's busy what would it hurt to ask? I mean, it is a VERY pressing issue and he's been trying to get this worked out for over 2 weeks now. Wost they can do is tell him he'll have to wait for the dept. supervisor to get back and at best you may get a solid answer from them!

Sending lots of sympathy your way! :grouphug:

At this point I'd be telling him I'm going without him. If he can join me, great but if not, oh well. His loss.. :rotfl:

Ok, I'm good now.

I really hope everyone has such a good time. That their trips are everything they wished for and more.

I haven't been in so many years, I think I may cry when we get there.

I just got back from Target. Wheeee. Not the gym.

I was so excited to find a Grinch shirt for DH. I also got him another Mickey shirt, and a Yoda shirt. That one says, "Elf I am not." :). I also got myself another Mickey shirt.

My husband would already have been beaten... I then remind him what his insurance policy is worth to me.... :lmao:

Exactly - there is financial implications too, I would hope they would understand that and not be upset with him asking!

At this point, I would say your vacation is set. No employer should expect their employee to cancel their vacation two weeks out. That would be beyond reasonable no matter what happens with his position. Just tell them the plans cannot be changed and you have too much money invested to back out.

At the rate they're going you'll get back from the trip and still not know if he's switching.

I agree, but his company is not very organized so this is not shocking. I think he will be fine taking his original week at this point. The supervisor on vacation this week is great and I am actually hoping it is her decision because then we should be fine.

This would be driving me crazy! Maybe that's why he's married to you and not anyone else - cuz we'd have all "cut him" Bon Qui Qui style!

Dang, I wasn't planning on heading to Target - now I kinda have to! I love the Grinch! Right next to Miracle on 34th Street (the new one), I love the Grinch movie.

Aww :) Love this group!!!

:grouphug:

That's how I feel too! I'm hoping I might spot a fellow DIS'er while I'm there in THREE.DAYS.!!! :hyper::hyper: would it be totally crazy to just run up to them (one of us), with arms outstretched and hear the chariots of fire music in our heads? Yea, didn't think so! LOL :rotfl:
