We will be arriving at approx 3:30 pm, and could conceivably be at Disney by 5 or so. Do they offer any discounts on admission prices for part-day admission? I know that some theme parks offer either a discount after a certain time, or if you pay full price it includes next day entry as well; anything like this for DW? We are only spending 1 day at DW, so if I could get a couple of extra hours that would be great. (We will not have anything other than a 1 day admission ticket, as we are spending the majority of our time at SW/US/IOA.)
Alternatively, if going to the park is out, what would you recommend for us to do that evening, to get a little taste of Disney? I thought maybe we could have dinner at one of the resorts and watch fireworks or illuminations from there, or maybe an illumination cruise.

I vote for Downtown Disney. We went there one evening with some friends that didn't have tickets to WDW. It was great! We played with legos, sampled free candy, saw the huge kalidascope, even watched some fireworks! There's lot's of photo opts in and around the shops.

WDW does not offer any kind of ticket like that.like the last poster said,i would spend the evening in Down Town Disney and shop. Then the next morning decide which park you want to go to and get your 1 day pass to that park.

If you are part of a convention you can get a half day pass. The price is a little cheaper but it is still expensive for part of the day.

Downtown Disney is an excellent suggestion, that will give us a chance to try Rainforest Cafe for dinner. I have never been to RFC, will I need reservations? Is there a website where I could see a menu?

no reservation required... just walk right up and put your name on the list, you might have to wait from anywheres between 10-45 mins depending on how busy they are...

check out their website at www.rainforestcafe.com and look under "eat" at the top.

The Rainforest Cafe in DTD takes reservations up to a year in advance. You might want to call so that you don't have to waste time waiting.
