We left Animal Kingdom, and headed for the bus stop. Started chatting with some people from Cleveland, who like us, were a little unprepared for this heat. Laughed about the weather back home (snow at their house, rain and cold at ours). The bus came and we headed back to the Lodge. Got ready for swimming, and we were just headed out when we heard noise. What was that? RAIN. One of those torrential Florida downpours. After about an hour of that we realized wed have to admit defeat. Changed back into normal clothes and started frying hot dogs and making sandwiches for dinner. It was still pouring after dinner, and mom and I were bored. We went down to the lodge and shopped and people watched. Made good use of the refillable mugs too. Met the most adorable little boy at the pin cart. He couldnt have been more than 2. Kept batting his eye lashes at us. The lobby was very busy that night, probably because of the rain. Many adorable kids. We did some shopping and just sat around talking. In that environment our tempers melted. We discovered gallon bottles of water in the Mercantile. At $2.50 per gallon, with a sport bottle of water at $2 these were a bargain. We already had water bottles in the room, so we bought one of these. Around 8:30 we finally headed back to the villa, knowing we would not be swimming this night. It was still raining buckets, and had started thundering too.
Set a much later wake up call for the morning and went to sleep. The next day would bring a day of hotel exploring, and hopefully swimming. I think all of us slept very well that night.
