Day 4 Jan 28th

Mickey woke us up at 7am. We were going to early entry at MGM. We got there about 5 minutes before opening, there weren't many people at all. We headed over the Rock and Roller Coaster (hubby and I had never been on this together and I had only been on once before when if first opened). I really enjoy this ride, it is so nice and smooth. We got off and got back on again. And then we headed over to Tower of Terror which was fun with its new drop sequences. Headed over to Star Tours with no wait and Muppet 3-d which we made it to 1 minute before they closed the show, good timing!

At this point we had another 40 minutes before anything else opened so we did Sounds Dangerous which is cheesy but neat with the sound effects and all. With the last 10 minutes we had before they were seating for Millionare we walked through Walt, One Mans Dream which was really neat.

We then walked into a pretty full showing of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. I was knowing all the answers but I guess I just wasn't getting it in fast enough. There were 2 contestants who both didn't make it back 16,000 question. We wanted to go to the next show but had about 20 minutes before seating so we got some popcorn and soda. I had gotten 2 popcorns and 2 cokes and the lady's cash register started beeping, she pulled the key out and couldn't get it back in. She tried for like 5 minutes, wrote out the total and said $9 something and I only had a $20 and she couldn't get into the register. So she said go ahead and take it, we felt kinda bad but she insisted so a free snack for us!!!! LoL.

We ate our popcorn and went back to WWTBAM. This time I did much better and there were 3 contestants and I was on the board every time they put it up....but never higher then 3rd place. It's a really fun game though!

We got outta there and went on the Backlot tour and decided to go eat lunch at the Contemporary which is another ritual for us. We both had chicken fingers and played some games. We are hooked on the Colorrama game, lol. Got the girls some little toys and stuff. Lane wanted to buy the girls a daddy gift and he had been eyeing a fancy princes pillow with marribou all around it so he got it for Hannah, our little princess fanatic.

We had seen kids carrying around these HUGE Tinkerbell balloons and asked where they could be bought which was the Magic Kingdom. So we headed over there, didn't see any balloons and asked guest services. They said they would be on sale after the parade so we found a seat to watch the parade which was magical of course! Not 2 minutes after the parade was done, out came the Tinkerbell balloons. $8 for this thing, but quite worth it! We took the boat back to the hotel which was a nice trip. We only relaxed for about 45 minutes or so. Our room had been cleaned and nope, nothing was left for our anniversary and since this was our only full day at the hotel, knew once again wasn't gonna happen! Now I know once again, you should expect anything. But it was noted on our ressie, the room controller posted nice notes about it, the lady at the front desk wrote it down and NOTHING!!!! By the way, the day before had been our anniversary, I got a beautiful ring from hubby and he promised me dinner at our FAVORITE restaurant at home.

We had heard about the Trails End Buffet at Ft Wilderness and wanted to try it out. So we headed over there. I have to tell you I agreed with our waitress when she said it was the Best Kept Secret of Disney World. It was $16.99 a person but YUM, what a selection. We ate way way way too much, I was so full I was sick. Our waitress was a really truely nice lady and we really enjoyed her. We got on a boat to the Contemporary, a monorail to the TTC and monorail to Epcot. I know it was probably the long way to go, but we needed the time just to digest. AYE!

We headed over to test track and walked right on and headed out to World Showcase where we rode Maelstrom in Norway. Have to tell a little story behind Maelstrom. My neighbor who is best friends with my grandma who raised me, her mom is Norwegian and they chose HER to be the first rider of Maelstrom when it opened to get a norwegains view of the ride. So she was able to invite guests with her and another neighbor who is a journalist for the paper, my grandma, sis, the neighbor her mom and I were the first ones to ever ride Maelstrom! I've always thought that was a neat thing, lol.

Anyway, we were still so sickenly full that we wanted to beat the crowds and left 20 minutes before Illuminations. At the bus stop, there were a few people waiting. The bus showed up and we hear LOUDER then LOUD FT WILDERNESS AND WILDERNESS LODGE. The bus driver was yelling this so loud, they could probably hear it in the park. Let me tell you guys, this was by far the best bus driver we have EVER encountered in Disney. He was a riot. He was a HUGE fellow and had a huge eeyore in his dashboard. He was telling jokes and was talking a mile a minute. The bus got pretty full and he was messing around with people who were getting on the wrong bus. So we were leaving and he turned on his light so we could wave at the people waiting for buses. Which lead into a sing along of Wheels on the Bus. The second verse he sang which was the horn on the bus and he was honking his horn all the way down the street. Which then lead into Disney Trivia, which lead into Useless Armadillo facts, which lead into a sing along of Zip a dee doo da. We were pulling into WL at this point and he devised a plan of turning on the light and we were all to yell hi security guy and wave to the guy at the front gate. Well we did it quite well and the guy was trying to be serious and gruff and saluted back but ended up laughing like mad. We really enjoyed Mark our bus driver, he is what Disney is all about and disney is gonna get a glowing review of him by me.

We were in our room by 9:30ish and asleep by 9:45...

Last Day 5- checkout and magic kingdom

No recognition of your anniversay agina? I thought for sure they would do something at WL :(

But what a great day this was, that bus driver sounds very Disney, what a hoot.

Thanks for sharing this day with us, I had a lot of fun reading.

What a cool bus driver! It's things like this that really can make or break someone's day. It can really help to set the tone for a vacation! Glad you experienced it!
