having a hard time deciding what to do on 10/30 and 10/31 during the day? We had planned on going to MK on 10/30 and () Universal on 10/31.....BUT after seeing the activities planned....now don't know what to do?

We pretty much have later in the week planned already, and sure don't want to be on a time clock having to rush back from either place only to miss things back at the Fort.

What do you guys/gals do??

Thanks so much
Kim

We usually went to MK on Halloween day and went early so we were back mid-afternoon for the kids to nap. On the year we went to MNSSHP, we stayed at the Fort all day doing activities, went to MK for the party and came home and crashed.

I think we'll be at the Fort next Halloween. My plan is to go to MNSSHP a day or two before Halloween and spend Halloween day and night at the Fort. The trick or treating is the best and I don't want my youngest to miss a minute.

We will be there this Halloween (10/29 - 11/2). We plan to do Parks on Saturday 10/30 for the most part of the day and plan to be back for the Golf Cart Parade, the campfire and then the Movie under the stars.

On Halloween day, we plan to spend the entire day at the Fort, looking forward to an fun packed day. From what I have heard, there's lots of things to do that day. Then we head back to the parks on Monday. For us, this will be a once in a lifetime trip since the kids have Monday and Tuesday off from school.

Just FYI, Universal Studios - Halloween

In 2008, my wife and I decided to go over to Universal to do a Halloween night over there (not actually Halloween night though).

First, I had paid extra for their fast pass option, so we were able to get into the haunted houses quickly. Considering the lines that developed, I would have not done otherwise. Second, this is definately not for younger kids, imagine Little Bo Peep walking around munching on a dead mutilated sheep and you get the picture. The haunted houses were great, all the actors in them and those walking around the streets were definately in charactor.

What I did not like was many of the guests demeanor. As you can imagine, this attracts a large younger crowd (teens to early twenty's). You combine that with reduced lighting, fog effects, with reduced visability, and alcohol purchases on every corner all contributed to a recipe for problems. Even though there was a large presence of Sheriff deputies and other law enforcement, fights broke out, drunks were falling down & throwing up, bad language, etc.. I would not do it again unless we were with someone else who had not done it & wanted to.

We have been the last 3 years!!! We really enjoy the HHN trip. I will say that i always have felt.... I guess the feeling would be on guard, guarded, uneasy, not as safe as Disney, ready to defend myself.

I dont know its hard. I mean me and my DGF are in our Mid 20's and we fit in age wise that place just attracts a totally different crowd. Its like being in the outskirts of the bad side of town.
If i could carry my CCW in there I would in a heart beat!!! But being an NRA instructor / CWP instructor I know the laws so i dont try!

WOW....going to RETHINK Universal on 10/31.....My oldest is 16 and Im sure would LOVE it, but the 10 and 8 year-old, not to mention my Mom and her friend, might not be too thrilled.

PLUS,,,who wants to have to be worried about foul-mouthed drunks while on vacation? Dont get me wrong, THAT could happen ANYWHERE, but I dont want to go lookin for it, YKWIM??

....sigh, back to the drawing board.

Anyone been at Epcott on a weekend day during F and W Festival? Maybe we can go there for the day instead?

Its busy!!! but its a blast!!! F&W is my favorite time of the year!

You will like the F&W festival. Check & see who is in concert and on which day (if you have a choice). Get a Disney gift card and load it, then go around the food booths, trying the different food items, instead of eating a regular meal. My wife & I usually split each selection and by the time we get all the way around, getting those items we like, we are stuffed.

They tend to handle the purchases quicker when you use a gift card, rather than cash.

We're doing Party for the Senses on 10/30, and I'm actually kind of sad that we'll miss the golf cart parade on the 30th, but we're free on the 31st this year so we'll get to give out candy and take part in the stuff going on on actual Halloween. I can't wait to see all the sites decorated!

The Food and Wine festival is awesome, and not to be missed!
