OK...all you members of the CC (and those who stumbled upon this thread)

Recently, the idea has been tossed around to "kick it up a notch" (Wow, watching too much Food TV :)) and possibly do something with the knowledge that has been collected on the two parks game threads...Possibly a website...or even the ultimate WDW book...

I have been thinking about it--and it seems like a great idea...and I am willing to give it a shot...but what do you all think?

What is the best way to go about this...a website...a book...or both???

And...does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about this???

I started this thread so we can keep the game on topic....let's see if we can make this idea a reality!! :)

BTW...in case you need them...here are the links to the 2 Parks Game threads...

The original Parks Game thread (which was closed in May,2002)

Parks Game...Let's Play!!

...and the sequel (still going strong...)Parks Game Part Deux..Let's Play More!!

I know there's a lot to read...but there's a lot of info!!!

Higgs... Let me be the first to post a big Yipee... what a great idea!!!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

It is good that you are taking the role of organizer and "Head Chef" I'll be in the CC waiting for further instruction. Sipping virtual Dole Whips of course. Hopefully we won't get too many "Chefs in Kitchen Stadium" (Cooks in the kitchen ;))
Ok, ok, Too many corney Food Channel references ... I think I need sleep......

I'll check back in the morning.

:o Good night.

First of all..."Iron Chef" rocks!!!!

Anyway...I am interested in hearing some ideas...this is a big project (and I'm a notirously slow starter :)) so any input would be great!!!

I was thinking of sticking to the parks...and giving a history about them...and a writeup on each attraction...using the facts picked up in the game...The way we excahnge info...it could be a fun read...

Wow, this sounds like it could be a lot of fun. count me in. i'm not much good at writing but could be a facts collector/compiler

Higgs is right, Iron Chef rocks!

Long live FoodTV!!!:p

Higgs - you already know what I think of the idea...hence the reason that I am posting. BTW - I REALLY like your new avator...

A website would be good - but EXTREMELLY hard to maintain. IMHO I think a book is best and easiest to put together.

I think a book like this is not for the person who has never been, but more for the person who has been many times and is always looking for something more (hummm- sounds like us!)

I like the idea of sticking to the parks...and I think a big key here is "did you know..." type of ideas.

History on the parks, and then listing a ton of *Did you knows*...and then maybe a *trivia* challange at the end of the chapter, with answers at the back of the book?!?

We could also have Disney's best kept secrets with stuff like Dole Whips, and the Margarietas...but also more of a *tip*...like "ask to sit at the front of the monorail" you know things that can only come with experience...

...just my 0.2 cents

Higgs -- Excellent idea!

I also think a book would be better than a website. This would be great for Park veterans - there are already enough books for beginners.

You should probably not have a chapter about the WDWWDS, though. Might scare people away!:teeth:

Lisa

I like your suggestions...I think the book might be the way to go...and Madonna...I was thinking about something very close to what you said...Now, anyone have any ideas on making sure all of our facts are confirmed?? (Besides endless trips to WDW of course! :))

You could do a history of the Parks Games including WDWWDS but... maybe you should tell people "Not to try this unless they are on the virtual tour" ;) (I think the initiations are best left out.)

I agree... a book seems to be a better way to go... then you could take it along with you to WDW ;) It would be easier to reference and not miss a word.

Love the show too.... I'd like to see them use SPAM as a main ingredient...LOL.....

:smooth:

Madonna...I was thinking about something very close to what you said...

as I mentioned before - DH and have been looking for a book like this for years now; so I know what type of 'book' is missing out there...it seems to me that you have been looking for the same book...lol...

Higgs - we could put together a *team* to confirm the facts; using a variety of methods...ie; researching the web, asking a cast member or in all seriousness - when it is something we can do...checking ourselves. We write the stuff, make notes of all things that need to be 'confirmed' and when one of us goes down to the world, we take the list and check as many off as possible...

Other then the *facts* the rest would be easy to write...it's just personal opinion and experience.

That sounds like a pretty good plan....this could be a great book! I can work on an introduction while we gather our facts....

How about.....

"WDW Parks Game.. The Book".. A complete guide to Park Facts, Trivia, Rumors, Inuendos, and all the Useless Knowledge You Need to Know!

...for a Title ;)

I still think that

"Everything I ever needed to know about Walt Disney World I learned in the 71 inch chalk circle while eating a Dole Whip..." would make a good title

Just kidding...

Higgs, this is a great idea and I will help in any way I can! MBabe, I LOVE your title!

I am so glad people like this idea....it’s going to be a lot of work...but fun!

BTW...I have a title in mind (not as wild...but mainstream) “A Fans’ Guide to the WDW Parks”

What do you think....

BTW...Madonna...in an earlier post, you said you liked my new avatar...thanks...I thought it fit my personality better than Buzz n’ Woody....and besides Hades is just too cool! :)

Title...ummm not bad Higgs - but I don't know if I would call it a *guide* per se; as there are TONS of exsisting WDW guides out there, that we don't want the book to be referred to as just another *guide* to the parks...do we?

Seems to me that there will be WAY more to this book then that...

As for your Avatar...I agree - Hades and Gaston are my Favourite villians...they have such fantastic character and personality...

You know, that's a good point...I never thought of that...using “Guide” in the title may not be the best idea...How about “Everything You Wanted to Know About the WDW Park, But Were Afraid to Ask...”

Am I the only one who prefers the website approach? :p

This wouldn't be hard at all, at least the approach that I'm imagining. It could even be turned into a trivia game, all database driven. Count me in on this one!

Higgs, I could throw something together for you to see what I mean if you like. I have some "extra" space at the present time.

Hey SAB...Long time...no talk...missed you at the Parks Game!

Anyway...I think a website might work...could get it up and running quicker than the book...and use the site to tie into the book...

Not quite sure what you have in mind...if you want to do something...go for it!

Hey - I only meant *extremelly hard to maintain* as I don't think that any of us who replied to Higgs yet were THAT computer literate (no offense guys...)

But SAB if you know your stuff - then why not?

Higgs - YEAH - I like that title MUCH better!!
