Could someone tell me how closer you get to the parks when you use perferred parking than regular parking.

It could turn out to be very close compared to the regular. With regular you could end up on the roof in the last row ...I think that has to be the worst...especially in the rain.... now take one guess how I would know that...yeap... that is where we were.... Thunder & Lightning storm....it was the worse...

Preferred parking puts you on the same level as the disabled parking. You don't have to use the escalator to go up or down in the parking garage. You're already right on the level that has the people movers that take you into CityWalk. I'm not so sure it's really worth an extra $4.00 though.

So are you saying they have a special parking area for handicap people? My mom and mom in law both have handicapped passes so would we be just as good parking there for them as paying for the preferred parking?

If you have a disabled parking pass you have even better parking than the preferred parking. IMO preferred parking isn't worth the extra $4.00 since you can land up in the very last row, last parking space on the 3rd level.

Two years ago my mom went with us and we used her handicapped parking pass and we got reserved parking (actually closer, the handicapped is in front of the reserved) and didn't have to pay the extra $.

I've even had the evil thought of color copying my mom's pass to use it when we go !!! :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I wouldn't pay the extra $, my thought is, if you're going to be walking all day, what's an extra few minutes.

On the other had, my DH would pay the extra $ because he's impatient.

I guess it depends on your personality. If you go to the parks for 4 days, that's $16. That would buy a souvenier !!!

Pssst. I'll give you a little trick to use later in the day. In the morning, you usually end up on the bottom floor in the middle which is an easy walk. Later in the day is when you may end up far away at the end of the garage. No problem. Park the car as directed, wait 5 minutes for the people to leave, then head for the exit like you forgot something. Turn just before the downramp which leads back around to the front of the garage. Find an open spot and park.
This can even work early in the morning if you are unlucky and land at the very end of the row. Just wait 5 minutes for cars to fill in the row, exit, loop around, and you'll end up in the front of a row.
