I am looking stay at an on-site resort that has a $24 a day parking fee. I will be driving a wheelchair van with HP placard for my son, and we always drive to the park because we stay off site. Decided to spring for on-site this trip, but will still drive to the park because it is so much easier than the bus when we will have my son in his wheelchair.

Is the parking fee at the parks separate from the parking fee at the resort? I assume the resort parking is only for the resort because then why would anyone take the bus, but figured I would ask.

If we use rental points for a DVC unit, I have been told the parking is free at the resort for owners and guests, so it may not matter depending on how we book.

If you stay on site, you do not have to pay for parking at the parks. If you have handicapped plates, you don't have to pay to park at the on site resorts.

Does it have to be plates or will the placard that hangs on the mirror work, since the OP mentioned a placard?

Follow up: I found that the placard is accepted.

Thanks! We are driving from MA, since my son can’t fly because he can’t sit independently. I would never take the bus if I was staying on sight with a car. Many folks must be car free from the airport, or maybe I just like to drive.

We always drive, 30+ trips, and after the first few trips we no longer use our van when we're there. We like taking buses, boats or monorail and soon gondolas:)
