We will be flying out of Philly for the first time in Aug. because of great rates with US Air.....any suggestions for parking facilities (not airport parking) at Philly?

Thanks

Will be staying 1 week...Aug. 21-28

not many great choices for parking around the airport. you
can park in Essington which is south of the airport or
on the auto mall area - which is west of the airport heading into
the city. if it is safty you are after the airport is probably better
than the others. price i am not sure of we live very close and have
a relative drop us off. bad part of not using the airport long
term lot is using the shuttle service from the others. there are
a few located all with-in 5 miles of the airport. so there are
plenty of choices. but if it was me. I would just do the parking
right there at the end of terminal "e".

We use Kinney. With AAA, for 5 days, we paid $34 something.
we saved between 10-11 dollars with AAA

Not sure of prices,
but there is Pacifico, Winner, SunPark, and Avistar also along this strip on Essington Ave.

I like Sunpark b/c it is right off the 95 airport exit and is the really close the the airport. Very easy and I don't like to be stressed. They can be expensive unless you pre purchase the vouchers on line and then it is about $6.30 a day. Pretty cheap. Here is the link. https://www.sunpark.com/onepay_order.asp?location=loc_phil-scott The one closest to the airport is Scott Way.

We usually stay the night before our flight at a hotel in Essington (usually around $80). We get one nights accomodations plus up to 2 weeks parking. You just leave your car there and take the hotel shuttle to the airport. This has worked great for us. We have stayed at the Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn and Ramada. The Ramada also has a secured lot that you can park in. I don't remember the exact price, but it wasn't bad.

If you do consider staying overnight though, the Ramada was gross and I wouldn't stay there again if it was free.

We've recently started using the Pacifico Airport Valet service, which has been pretty convenient. They drive you to the airport and pick you up in your own car, so you don't need to move lots of luggage in and out of vans or buses (this is very handy when you're traveling with 2 young children).

Their rates are reasonable, and they have a AAA discount. You don't need a reservation, just drive to their location, and a driver will take you (in your own car) to the airport. Call them when you get back and they will pick you up in your car.

Here's their address:

This is the understatement of the year.

I was on a flight from Philly to Avp returning from a WDW trip last July. Us Airways cancelled the flight and hauled us all off to the Ramada for the night. This place was such a dive. like puffkin said it was gross. The Us Air Crew stayed at the Airport Marriot, so at least they think something of their employees. I'm not saying we should have stayed there but at least some place clean. Motel 6's are very inexpensive and at least clean.
To make a long story short, we called Us Airways the next day and told them that nobody should be sent to stay there. We each received $75 travel vouchers for our night of hell.

As puffkin said, maybe park there only.

Omigosh, jwill your story is so funny;)

We usually stay at the Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn (nothing fancy but clean and reasonably priced) but I thought the Ramada looked nice so I tried it for our trip to California last November. The outside and lobby area looked really nice and I was excited until we got to our room. My reaction must have been priceless. I felt like I stepped back in time to a bad 70's movie. The beds were tiny and practically on the floor. There were holes in the carpet and some ceiling tiles were missing. The mattress was so uncomfortable and I couldn't get over the TV. We had checked in at 11 pm and we were leaving at 4 am so I didn't bother to complain but it was just GROSS. What a disappointment, never again, never again...

That Ramada did have a 70's vibe to it now that I think back. I seem to remember red carpeting everywhere. When we checked in the staff was taking down wedding decorations from the lobby, that had to be pretty scary to have a wedding there.
