Anyone know what the current parking rate is for the RPH? Is is best to park there and walk to the park? We have one night reservation and plan to spend 2 days at parks. How are the shuttles?

$15 for guests, seeing you are staying 1 night you are better parking in the hotel rather than paying for Universal parking garage, as you would be charged $15 by the hotel anyway for 1 nights parking

Parking was explained to me this way: they charge at midnight. So your first day you'll pull in and park at RPR, but you're not charged until midnight. If your car is still there the following midnight, you'll be charged again. If it isn't, it's just that ONE charge, even though you'll be parked there for two days.

Don't move the car...just walk to (or take the boat) the parks each day.

If you have a preferred AP - do you have to pay to self park at the resort?

You are charged per night. So if you stay 5 nights (which is 6 days) you will only pay for 5 nights of parking. You can move the car, come and go as you please, we have never had a problem. You just use your hotel card to get in and out of the self parking lot.:thumbsup2

This is from their website:

Choice of self or valet parking is available.

Overnight Guests
Self Parking: $15 plus tax per night
Valet: $22 plus tax per night

Day Guests
Self Parking: $20 plus tax
Valet: $30 plus tax

*Rates subject to change without notice

You can take a bus, a boat, a surrey ride or walk to the parks. We stayed at RP and walked most of the time. The boat is very lovely too. The walk is about 8 minutes or less to IOA. I think the resort is closer to the park than some of the parking lots at WDW are to the parks. lol

can't you park in the universal studios main garage for free if you have an annual pass? I thought I read that somewhere. If so, is it a long walk to rpr?

Thanks

Well parking is free in the main parking garage for AP holders and you can walk from there to RPR. The problem is there is no overnight parking allowed in the main garage. So you will have to get your car out and put in RPR parking lot and be charged.:thumbsup2

thank you!! I did not know that. Looks like I will be paying to park at RPR.

I have tried all types of ways to get around the fee, but we just budget the $15.95 w/tax per night into the cost.

Yeah...we are going this year but taking the train. Our cab fare is $50 round trip and the parking fee would be about $50. So it is a wash.

We just stayed at RPR and came in on Saturday at 9 am and left on Sunday at 6 pm and were only charged $15. It's a beautiful walk from RPR to the parks.

We're now talking about going back in November, yep during our Jersey Teachers Week!!! :cool1:
