So I have swallowed the price of staying a week at Royal Pacific but I just found out that in addition there is a charge to park your car in the hotel parking lot. :crazy2: Is there anyway around the fee or a discount? Any memberships to sign up for?:scratchin We have Costco, AAA, Amex...grasping at straws but every little bit helps make this trip a reality.

For all the years we have stayed at HRH we have never found a parking discount. Not sure if there is any type of discount with an annual pass but I haven't seen anything on here that says there is. We have just gotten to the point that we build the cost into our expenses when we plan for the trip. I will admit, since I am on vacation I actually pay the extra and have the car valet parked at the resort since I don't want to get into a sweltering car in Aug.

Thanks for the quick response. I figured that between the Loews First card or AP there had to be something. I was just not looking in the right place.

It took me a bit to get use to the parking fee. I still like to make it seem like parking is free to me, so this is what I do. We save all our change from everything! A week before the trip we roll the money. We always end up with enough to pay parking, toll money, and tips for the luggage guys. So in my strange mind it was not taken out of my vacation money. :rotfl2:

Not sure when you are leaving but maybe you can do something to make a little extra money and let it count towards that stuff. ;) Find a way to make it not seem so bad in your head. pixiedust:

I think my biggest problem is swallowing NO DISNEY!!! One or the other, Disney or Universal. Kids have been asking for Harry Potter so I feel that we have to do it but I would much rather just go to DW.;)

Are you driving to florida? If not you could consider transportation from the airport.

We are driving. We took a trip to Niagra Falls and the hotel charged to park in their garage but if you parked across the street in a lot it was much less. Just wondering if there are any similar options.

Oh OK. No, the parking fee will apply and they don't have any discounts. No other place to park either that would be accessible.

Self parking just went up a few months ago to $17 plus tax from $15 plus tax. When we book we just factor it into our budget, simple. I don't use valet, one I don't like other people using our car, it's really not worth the extra money to fetch my car, and the heat is not a big deal ( with live in Florida, we are used to it). Also this way I can park and put up my sunshades, valet won't put that up.

As for not paying at Disney to park at the resorts, everyone pays to park if you have a car or not. It's in the price of the room along with their transportation to the parks. :thumbsup2

Oh I see.. Yes I have that issue too. Wish we could do both but we did Disney last year and then winter break we went down to Legoland so we can only do Universal for vacation. BUT, we will go to downtown disney on our travel day home and spend some time there so it will make me happy! Your gonna love the perks of onsite. Will give you so much more time. I need that pool and do nothing time!
