What's the difference between regular sef-parking, premium parking and valet parking? I can find the prices on their site, but not a good description. I've only ever used regular self-parking.

Are the upgades worth the price?

I **think** that the difference between regular self- parking and premium is the different levels, premium will put you on the same level as the people movers and regular can put you anywhere in the garage.

Valet is right at the beginning of Citi Walk, next to the movie theater, but you pay $$ for that.

The last time I paid extra to park in the premium area, yes it was on the same level as the entrance, but i ended up parking wayyy back closer to the end of the garage. So while I didn't have to do any stairs or escalators, I was actually parked farther away than the people who did regular parking and were being parked one level below the entrance and just going up one escalator and then not very far to the entrance of CityWalk. Maybe if you were there first thing in the morning it might be worth it and got the first area on the same level as the entrance.

You are correct...the Preferred parking is extra and it parks you on level 3 whereas regular parking goes any other level. It's really not worth the money.

How about the valet parking? How much does it cost? Is it worth the $? and, can you go in and out on the same day?

Valet is $12.00 under 2 hours and $22.00 for the whole day. I'm not sure if you can come and go but if you can, it might take a while to get your car if the parks are busy. I don't think it's worth it but I don't like to pay to park. If you have someone in a wheelchair or needs special assistance, it would probably be worth it. The escalator from the valet area puts you out almost at the theater entrance so you'll save a lot of steps.

I will have a scooter when I visit Florida in November. We used Valet at Universal during our last trip and loved it, but didn't have mobility issues then as I do now. I know there's an escalator to use when parking Valet, but don't remember an elevator. Is there one? Is valet closer than handicap? (I have a placard for our car rental)

Thanks... :)

I just got off the phone with Customer Service at Universal. We discussed my mobility issues and she suggested that I use the Valet parking. It's close to Citi Walk. I also reserved a ECV for the three days that I will be in Universal. I am so happy that they take reservations for the ECVs so I don't have to pray that one is available when we go.

I'm renting a scooter for the entire 10 days we're in Florida. It came out cheaper that way and I know that I'll have one wherever we go. WDW is known to run out of them and if you want to park hop, there's no guarantee that there will be another available at the next park.

I reserved a scooter at SeaWorld in San Diego last year. It was so nice knowing that I'd have one upon arrival. What was even more wonderful is being able to enjoy my vacation without being in constant pain. I had such a great time in California last summer. So did my family. They didn't have to constantly wait for Grandma to catch up! They actually had to keep up with me for a change! :rotfl:

I've never had any issues with the valet parking...they take just as much time to get my car as most hotels. Some days though we'll do preferred parking instead of valet just depending on how we feel.

We have the premier pass so all our parking is free.
