Is it possiible to use valet parking at BWV or BCV if you aren't staying there? We are staying at OKW.

Here's a link to a comprehensive guide to benefits:

http://allearsnet.com/acc/dvc.htm

It includes the mention, "Members receive free valet parking at Disney's BoardWalk Resort, Disney's Beach Club Resort and the Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge."

Thanks. I know we have parked in the self park area at BWV before, but I wasn't sure valet was available if we weren't staying there.

You may have to pay for it, though - I was surprised to see a wording change regarding the valet parking perk in the "Portable Perks" we received at check in on 12/3/2005. It said that the free valet was for members staying at BWV. I will find it tonight and try to post the exact wording if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

Best wishes -

We should probably ask Deb to update her website if they have indeed changed the wording.

"Valet parking is complimentary at Disney's BW resort, DWL, and DBC resort.
DVC members must be a registered guest of the walt disney world resort. Parking is not available for theme park access."

I believe the intent is to allow DVC members, (staying on property-anywhere) to use free valet service at any DVC resort which offers the service.

Thanks for the exact wording, DVCconvert - so apparently, we get the valet free only if we are actually staying on site somewhere.

My recollection is that it used to be free to members no matter where we were staying - even off site. Guess that's the change I was remembering. Glad to see we can still valet for free if we are staying on site and not just at the resort that offers it.

Best wishes -

I found a message from just after the introduction of the fee for valet parking that specifies this:

http://groups.google.com/group/rec.arts.disney.parks/msg/9de0e48fbd53d735?hl=en&fwc=1

However, Disney Vacation Club Members will not be charged for valet
parking at Disney's BoardWalk Resort and Disney's Wilderness Lodge, regardless
of where they are staying.
Disney Vacation Club Members must show their DVC
Member card or Walt Disney World Resort ID indicating that they are a "DVC
Member" when leaving their vehicle to be parked in order to receive this
service at no charge at either Disney's BoardWalk Resort or Disney's Wilderness
Lodge. Members will be charged for this service at any other valet parking
operation at the Walt Disney World Resort. Whether or not you are charged to
valet park, gratuities are still appropriate.

That is one of the perks that we have found to be very nice in taking advantage of. And it can be used at all resorts. For ex.: We just visited AKL to eat at Boma. We showed them our card, and just like that, they parked for us. Its great!

We questioned it while staying at OKW, and the same was true. We visited WL, showed them our DVC member card, and it was taken care of.

Also don't forget that if you have the DDE card, and an ADR for a meal at a resort or in a park-valet service is complimentary as well.

You were lucky at AKL, members are only supposed to get free valet at the DVC resorts, not at others.

There is a discussion on this thread:

Next October we are planning to have dinner at Artist Point before attending MNSSHP. We'll be staying at BWV.
Are we within the rules to valet park at VWL for dinner, and then leave the car there to take the boat over for the party? Or do we need to move the car after dinner to the TTC to attend the party?
I'm not looking to skirt the rules, just understand them.

Check out DVCconvert's message above, snowbunny. In it, he quoted the policy, which states, "Parking is not available for theme park access."

I did see that Bicker, but I thought having dinner at Artist Point first might not be considered theme park access. We're having dinner there because we want to, not to access the MK...but I see your point, that's where we will end up.

There's no question you can use the parking for eating at Artist Point. Then you would be expected to drive to the theme park parking lot.
