We will be renting a car on our May 2007 trip. I was wondering if parking was free if you stayed on site at Universal or if you needed to pay full price? Do the hotels have seperate lots that you can park in or do you park in the main lot for the parks? We have never stayed on site before but have visited the parks in '96 and 2000. I appreciate any info you may have. Thanks in advance for the help. Patti B

Onsite hotelsl charge 12.00 per day to park and you can walk, or take a water taxi to the parks. It costs 10.00 to park in the HUGE self parking garage, and you have a long walk to the park.

ps..we loaded our luggage and left our car in the hotel lot for the duration of the last day at the parks and were not charged! :thumbsup2

You could try to cheat if you really wanted too and tell the girl at the front desk that you came by taxi. They charge you $12 per night, so yes, on your last day it's free. At the PBH, the exit gate is always up, so you can just drive right in. The HRH and PBH have a guard, but once you come and go a few times, they'll remember who you are and let you pass just by showing your room key. The guard doesn't keep track what room you are in, it's the front desk that asks if you drove a car.

I just stayed at RPH for one night. They do charge you $12 plus tax per night to park at the hotel. We kept our car at the hotel and either walked to parks or took the water taxi. If you take your car to the "park" parking lot, you have to walk a longer distance to get to the parks.

I wouldnt suggest cheating the system. You'll end up getting towed.

No offense, but Universal or Disney are not going to tow your car unless it is a safety issue, or it is blatantly parked in a traffic obscuring position. The last thing universal is going to do is risk towing a car that might actually belong to a paying guest.

so to tag on to these questions. If you have an annual pass, does that give you free parking at the resorts too or only in the big garage?

Can you park in the garage overnight?

The parking garage is the one place where I believe your car would be towed. Everytime I've arrived in the morning, the garage is empty. The annual pass only gives you free parking in the big garage, and not the resorts. The resort parking is all done by telling the girl at the check in desk you drove your own car, and then it's $12 per night.

Free parking at the parks only with an AP. You can't park in the parks garage overnight.
