Parking on WDW property for dining?

Hi fellow Disney lovers! We are planning a trip for Jan 2012 and we are planning an off site visit for the first time. Our last two visits have been to the Poly CL, but our family has since grown and our budget has shrunk. ;) I am leaning heavily towards Wyndham Bonnet Creek. I just can't believe how far your dollar stretches at that resort. However, there are a few on-site restaurants I don't want to miss during our trip. We love breakfast at Kona Cafe and dinner at Ohana. Does anyone know how you handle parking when dining at a WDW hotel? Will we be allowed to park in the hotel parking lot since we wont' be WDW hotel guests?

I have to admit that I am somewhat sad to not be staying at the Poly this time around (waking up looking at Cinderella castle is amazing), but the thought of us being crammed into that room at such ridiculously high prices doesn't sound like a vacation to me, LOL.

Thanks so much!

you can park at the resort. just tell them you have a dining reservation. you can park for 3 hours. (no, you can't park there for breakfast, then take the monorail to MK, and some back for your car at night)

Yes, I believe you can park at the resort for a set amount of time, maybe 3 hrs? to have a meal, then you need to park at the park you are going to
We are also staying offsite for the first time in Sept, the thought of 4 of us in a room at Pop for 6 nights...its not good :scared1:

We stay on-site and love it. I took 2 of my DS to a birthday POLY trip in May '10 and then accompanied my DD and 3 grand kids in Jan '11 to Bonnet Creek. We feel like we need the space/kitchen/w&d when traveling with young ones. We liked everything at BC and it is in a convenient location. We had no trouble going to the food courts at POFQ and POR which obviously do not have ADRs so you should be able to park and eat.

Hello, one option not mentioned is to valet park at the deluxehotel and the car is good for the day. In the end, it costs about the same as parking at the parks but a nice kid gets a tip and your car is brought to you in front of the Poly, GF, Boardwalk, Contemporary, Yacht and Beach or whatever hotel deluxe you prefer.

I JUST had a conversation about this very topic with my co-planner tonight. Thanks for answering a question I hadn't even asked here yet!

Hi again! To be honest, I am sure Disney does not promote this idea but it works if you are doing MK or Epcot. Some folks may frown on this idea and we do not do it unless we combine a meal at a hotel with a park visit. For Epcot we valet at Boardwalk if we are doing dinner somewhere on the Boardwalk.

Enjoy!

We did this a couple years ago too combining Chef Mickey's breakfast at the Contemporary with a full day at MK. The CM at the gate actually informed us of it, and it was $1 less at the time than regular parking.

And then you have the bonus of taking the OTHER monorail back from MK and not having to wait in the long line for the one to the TTC.

Beth - If I could "like" posts - I would like this one for you! :thumbsup2
