Parking lots with an EVC?

This will be our first trip with an ECV. We're renting from an outside agency & bringing it with us each day. My mom will have her handicap tag so I'm hoping we'll be able to park in that lot. Will we be able to walk to the entrance from that lot? I have no idea how far it actually is from the entrance.

It's a short walk from all the HC lots at Epcot, AK and Studios. The MK HC spaces are near the Ticket and Transportation center and are a little bit more of a walk but not terrible. From there you need to take either the monorail or ferry to get to the MK. Both are easy enough. The monorail has a space where they load the ECVs with a ramp. We do this with a wheelchair, but same process for the ECVs and very simple.

Sunburnin gave great info for the parks, but I also wanted to point out that onsite resorts have HC parking, but when we were there, they were often completely filled. Luckily, the parking lots at the resorts aren't huge like park lots, so there was always an open regular spot at the back of the lot.

OP - Unless something has changed with the last price increase in valet parking - its free with the handicapped sticker at the deluxe resorts - just involves the tip. As far as the parks are concerned - if the handicapped lot is full when you arrive to park esp. later in the day simply advise the parking attendant that is in the roadway prior to turning down a row that you have an ECV and they will send you to an end parking spot in a row marked "reserved" that will be close to the entrance to the parks excluding MK of course, but it will be close to the entrance to the TTC. We just spent 2 weeks at WDW using 2 ECV's and every CM we encountered directed us to the reserved spots. Now, could you encounter a CM that won't do that.......yes, will you..........??? but I can see from a safety standpoint that it makes sense - we would be unloading the ECV's from the back of the SUV while cars could have been driving past us esp. if we were near the front of the row and cars were going past for a long time to fill the row to the far end before another row was started. The reserved spaces they would direct us to were in rows that were already filled, therefore no cars driving past us.

The handicapped parking permit issued in one state is accepted in every other state. So, you can park in the handicapped spots without issues.
What can vary from state to state are some of the rules that are not an issue at WDW - things like whether parking in a handicapped spot is free (parking at WDW is free for guests staying at WDW resorts) and whether time limitations apply.

As you park at WDW, have the handicapped parking permit visible so that each CM directing traffic can see it and direct their attention to it by pointing to it or moving it. That way, they will direct you to where you need to go.
If handicapped parking is full, they usually will direct guests to an overflow or alternate handicapped parking area. The end of row spaces more are usually used for guests who might have a mobility need (like wheelchair or ECV or need to be close to the trams), but don't have a state issued handicapped parking permit or their handicapped parking permit wasn't noticed early enough to send them into the handicapped parking area.

The Studio has a very small handicapped parking area. If it is full, we have been directed to drop off our person with a disability and park in the regular lot.
