Hi!

I'm going to disneyland Saturday 10/10/2015. I'm trying to park in the lot right next to downtown disney and the parade pier hotel. Anyone know what time that one usually opens? Lately I seem to always be too early and stuck on the parking structure. :/

From my understanding that lot is a Downtown Disney / hotel overflow lot. I would park at Toy Story if you don't want to deal with the structure.

Hmmm thanks. I'm actually trying to avoid using the Disney transportation, so toy story won't help with that. I was planning on going later anyway, hopefully it works out. :)

Just a warning the downtown Disney prices just took a big hike this past weekend. It's only 2 free hours, 4 with table service/movie validation and $12 a hour after that in 30 minute increments with a $36 max.

There's actually 2 dowtown disnew parking lots, one is like your describing where you pay by the hour but there is another one specifically for park parking. I want to say the aisles are named after lion king characters, but it's been a while. It's right beside the disneyland hotel and paradise pier hotel, let's you walk straight into dowtown.

Oh the Simba lot. I haven't parked there since the lion king lots had a tram back in the day.

I don't think they have a set time schedule. I've arrived around 20-30 mins before park opening and I'd say 2 out of the last 10x I've been there, we were directed to that lot you're thinking of. The parking structure wasn't open yet and I don't know why they directed us to that downtown disney lot.

I think Simba was converted to hourly. They only open it now when they anticipate the other lots filling. Just walk from M&F. It's not really any farther than Simba.

My family walks from M&F all the time! It's not a bad walk at all. Even after a long park day.

DTD lots (especially near PP) are not always open, and like folks have said price hikes have happened.
I use them often myself, but prepare to spend $30 if you're planning an allday visit.

We are going for the first time in a couple of weeks and staying at an offsite hotel about a mile and a half away.....for a visit to parks, is one lot better than another to park at?

Do we even get to choose, or is it like WDW where they just funnel you in??
