How is the parking? I know it's far from the rooms but is it a fairly big lot? I tried to get an aerial view and it looks big but can't really tell. We are driving and DH worries a little if we take his car (he's a car nut, what can I say)

it is not big.

there is one across the street that is bigger - but beware some CM park here and they drive FAST

We've stayed there at least a half-dozen times in recent years and over our week-long trips have never had trouble getting a space. Usually we're in the first one or two rows no more than half way down.

The BoardWalk is a big convention hotel and I think DME has done an effective job of reducing automotive traffic. DVC members (half the resort) get free valet and should be light users of the self-park lot. And if more and more convention groups are emphasizing DME over rental cars, I'm sure that has had a positive impact as well.

Just remember that Disney won't accept any liability for damage to the car while in their lot.

It has gotten better recently, it's been easier to find a space. When I was there in October, they sometimes blocked the main entrance off the driveway and you had to go around to the side where they had a guard posted to check resort ID's.

Try not to use their Valet or you'll be waiting a long time to get your car. Took me 1/2 hr to get mine back, so i went and park it myself instead. There were plenty of space ALL the way in the back and quite a hike back to the resort.

I am going to give the opposite advice as cheezNE1...I'd advise to use valet parking. We've stayed at BWV several times and haven't had an issue with valet parking waits at all.

We do tend to call from our room to give them a head start and rarely wait more than a minute or two when we get there. I suppose the car would always be there waiting for us if we were located near the end of one of the l...o...n...g hallways there! :)

We've also found that self-parking is adequate...not always really close but never unable to find a spot.

We always use valet parking as as the PP wrote we call ahead for our car, never a problem but be prepared to tip the valet.

Thanks for the replies. I can tell you this....DH will not use valet. The thought of a stranger driving his car....:scared1: Remember Ferris Bueller's Day Off? We'll walk the distance as long as there is a good spot.
