Parking Garage opening?

Hi -

What time does the parking garage allow people to begin parking their cars? We're staying at SSR, but have a ressie at RPH to get FOTL and early entry to WWoHP. We plan on getting there on time to get into WWoHP(already will have room cards from RPH, checking in day before), which with an early entry time of 7AM (parks open at 8 when we are there). Will we be able to park in the garage before 7, or will we have to head over to RPH to park. No difference in pricing, so that doesn't matter. Didn't know which would be more convenient. Any advice would be helpful.

in the low season, i know the parking garages open one hour prior to the park opening.

i would assume they same holds true for summer months.


if you want to do the early entry due to staying onsite, you would be better off parking at the hotel.
sometimes the line for waiting for the garage to open can be long.
others are thinking the same thing you are.
go early to park the car, get to the front gate before park opening.

you enter the garage in the line you are in.
you stop to get the ticket, then find a parking place.
if you are not familiar with this set up in the garage, you could end up in the back portion to park.

make it simple for your group.
park at the hotel without a wait then walk to ioa or use the water taxi.

why have to backtrack and head back to the garage to move the car over to the hotel later when you are done with the park for the day?

plus if you park in the garage and then move to the hotel you will wind up paying for parking twice! Once at the garage and once at the hotel. You pay by the night for the hotel parking so you would only incur one charge by parking there to begin with

It's usually an hour before the park opens, sometimes sooner on very busy days.

They have two entrances to the parking garage, one is at the intersection of Universal Blvd and Hollywood way that's always open, and the other that is along Universal Blvd that's only open during busy days. My route to work goes by the garage every day and I see a lot of people get confused by the two entrances fairly often (Especially if they get off at Kirkman).
