Yes. You are definitely allowed to do that. At least, that was fine two months ago when we were down there!

Yes, just be careful of park closing times to make sure you can get back to your car.

Yes in that direction since you dont have to go through HS from the lot. Just remember you can’t do it in reverse. You can't start at EP and go to HS if your reservation is at HS since you'd have to go through EP from the parking lot to get to the boat or Skyliner.

If you’re hoping to use it as a way to rope drop Remy be aware of the risk of Remy being down at rope drop. Sad but true, it happens, leaving you to spend your EE trekking to the other side of the park where those coming via bus are already ahead of you at the rides.

There is a park to park bus that will run until the park is clear. Disney buses will not strand you without a way to get back to your vehicle.
