We are staying offsite and was wondering about parking. I know we can get a pass to park at the Contemporary, but can we leave our car there all day or do we have to move it in a certain time period. I was thinking we could just take the monorail after breakfast and go to MK. Possible or do we have to move our car first?

This can be a hot topic.

It would be great if you could just hop on the monorail and go on over to MK. Unfortunately, this is not allowed past a 3 hour limit for your CM reservation. The reason is that parking at the resort for all day is limited to those guests. You will have to leave, drive to MK lot and park there.
Someone else here may be able to address whether or not you can valet park at the Contemporary for the day if you are staying offsite. That would solve the problem.

enjoy!!

Its been 6 yrs for me, but heres what I have done at least a dozen times~

Valet park at GF, Poly, or Yacht Club (for EPCOT) I dont know if this is allowed at the Contemporary.... This was free (except for tips) back then, but had heard of now being charged $10 p/d... Maybe someone with recent exp can let us know if thats accurate.

Once parked, I used the resort monorail or boat (to EPCOT). I either had a meal at the resort in the morning, or at the end of the day, before picking up my car.No one ever questioned me about it, and it was so much more pleasant than the horrific lots for MK and EPCOT. Id gladly pay as much as $25 p/d to avoid those :lmao:

Sorry but its not allowed. You could valet but I think its a $8 charge plus tips. CR has a very small parking lot as it is. Imagine if everyone having breakfast or dinner at Chef Mickey's parked there and then went to MK. There would be no room for resort guests. If you are going to be at MK anyway just park in the parking lot and take the resort monorail over to CR. That way after breakfast you can just walk over to MK and not worry about having to go park.

Good Luck

How far is it to take the monorail from the MK parking lot to Chef Mickey? I don't mind paying for parking either way, I just did not want to have to take the time and effort to move the car. It would probably be best to park at MKt anyway so you wouldn't have to take the monorail back to your car at the end of the day.

You would have to take the ferry/monorail to the MK and then walk over the CR or take the resort monorail. It is about a 10 min stroll from the bus area of the MK to the front door of the CR. If you are planning on being at the MK all day, then I would go there first and then to the CR, it will save you having to move the car and you will have a better parking space.

Mrsv98-I know I'm being dense...but are you saying from the parking lot at MK, (the bus area) I can just walk to breakfast at CM in about 10 min and avoid the monorail or other transportation? If so, that's cool. I thought you had to take a bus or monorail or boat to all the resorts from the park.

We just got back. We had lunch a Chef Mickeys. We stayed off site. We Valet parked for $7 otherwise it would have been free. We hopped on the Monorail spent a few hours at the kingdom came back and got the car and went back to our hotel. No problems :thumbsup2

What you would have to do is park at the TTC and take the resort monorail to Chef Mickey's or you could take the ferry to MK and either hop the resort monorail or walk (which is a ten minute walk.)

I believe if you use valet parking you could stay there all day without any problems. Then you can take the monorail to MK. Keep in mind though, from the CR the monorail goes to TTC, Poly, GF and then MK. So it's not a quick monorail ride away.

You could also park at TTC, and rather than taking the monorail to MK, walk over the Poly (short walk from TTC) and get the resort monorail from there to the CR, plus have the added bonus of checking out another resort!
